was saying his speech was slurred he had blood shot eyes and smelled of alchohol good enough to get a conviction?It's tough to do.
When I was a Rookie we didn't have Breathalyzers.
The Officers testimony, Eyewitness accounts, and statements made by the Suspect were about all we had to get a conviction.
Of course the conviction rate for DUIs back then was pretty dismal too.
