Was wondering if people knew some of the laws regarding shooting on there own property. How far from a dwelling how far from a neighbor. Shooting near roads and water (saw something about not shooting across water). Do you need a target permit to target shoot on your own property? Any laws about such things would be helpful thanks. I posted something previoulsy along the same lines and was no conclusive laws/ordances stated. Thanks

I thought this was a spoof thread. But, it's a little wierder - 20 out of 21 of the OP's post have are in three threads he started about shooting on his property.
I guess he really wants to know. Looks like the information he seeks in here though, so we should not see a 4th.

Yes and no for a answer. I finally got a sheriff to answer me on the phone. He said that as long as it is in a safe manner it is legal. I would like to get some more suggestions from people from this area on distances they use ect.. But good enough for now. I plan on doing some shooting tommorow so we will see if i get arrested then LOL.

You make a thread providing "the other side" of the story, but you do it in a funny way, and put it in the break room. That tricks other people into thinking its real and that two ingo members had ran into each other and not known it each complaining about "their side" of the story. People get worked up into a frizzy not realizing its in the break room and then your thread is rated on a sliding, imaginary, made up, or otherwise fictitious scale.

So threads are rated? And i see what you mean about each half of the story LOL. Who rates them and how do i rate threads i read. I really like all the gun porn in the class 3 section as well as the revolver pics. I just click and stare all day long LOL.

I think i read the thread that i would be the other side of the story of. Was it the one where they where shooting in to someones woods and the police said they could not do anything unless someone was hurt. Some other neighbor got stuck in the path of the shooting or something. I found that story disturbing that the one shooting was that ignorant about the whole thing. I just moved to my present home and i already talked to the neighbors to let them know i was trying to do everything in a safe manner and not to be a nausence to them. The one neighbor said he shoots everynow and then and the other was fine. In the early afternoon you can hear shooting all over where im located. I just posted these threads to get other peoples view that might be from the area. I want to be as far inside the law as possible.

yes, that's the thread someone thought you were spoofing.

Here are some examples of how to rate a thread

    Bacon
    .22lr
    .308
    155 howitzer
    4.9 out of 3,956
    2/5
    9/10
    20/8
    bunny rabbit
    popcorn
    here comes honey boo boo

The ratings are half of the comedic relief of the spoof threads.

If yours were a spoof I would rate it a spoon

Distance all depends on your property. Most of the shooting at my place is done at 25-50 yds. I could go out to 100-200, but I don't usually.
