Having some really nice 9mm CZ's we have done the back to back tests comparing the 9's to the 45's. 8" steel plates just seem to dance a bit more when you beat on them with the 45. Both calibers were ran in FMJ and SD rounds. I might just be leaning as a fan boy but the 45 was the over all winner. Then we broke out the 10mm 1911 and the 2011..........No contest.
I agree that 45 bangs the steel harder, but man 357 mag makes it dance!!!

I must be doing it wrong. Carried a 1911 for over 20 years now. I've haven't even used it on one bad guy.:dunno:

    Maybe mine is defective.

Nope, working perfectly. It's a Bad Guy Repellent. They can sense its mere presence and scatter. The .45 ACP was designed for those too lazy to shoot twice. If you ever do have to use it on a BG, be forewarned that it doesn't just kill the body, it kills the soul.

Always considered a 230 grain .45 ACP and a 158 grain .357 Magnum roughly equivalent, albeit the latter has a greater effective range (limited by barrel length and sights). The former has the lower velocity and heavier mass like of a freight train. The latter has the high velocity and moderate mass of an express streamliner. Wouldn't want to be stuck on the tracks with either one approaching.

Carrying a 1911 in .45ACP is what make you man.

    A 1911 chambered in 10mm makes your a superman.

Don't you carry 3 1911s? Does that make you a mutant? If so, can you give me Jean Gray's phone number?
