    Wolfhound,
Interested in one of your 7.7 Japanese rounds.

    I have a .357 Magnum and I think I should have a 30-40 Krag.

I would be interested in the .30 Pedersen and 30-40 Krag if you have extras you want to sell or trade.

I have one Pedersen that I would turn loose [but the full box of 40 will keep for awhile], and one of the Krag. Not a collector, just have picked this stuff up over the years because it just was "neat". Have no idea of the worth, so will Google around and see what pops up.

That sounds fair. Just let me know what you come up with.

    Wolfhound,

The Russian looking round I traded you for is actually Serbian. Made by Prvi Partizan, the Mk8z round has a heavier boat tailed bullet for use in machineguns rather than rifles.

As well on the black tip .303, I half suspect that the projectile was pulled from Israeli 7.62x51. The bullet cannelures match those on examples I have seen photographs of.

Thank you for the information Bogwalker. You and AmmomanAaron are way above my knowledge level so I really appreciate you both sharing information on the thread. If the black tip bullets are Israeli that makes them a little more interesting. British cases and Israeli bullets, I had no idea.

I hope you can find time to post pictures of some unusual cartridges from your collection on this thread and possibly do some trading as well. :yesway:

Here's what I've got to trade:
    Pistol:
    .38 Special
.45 ACP (Modern commercial and WWII steel cased produced at Evansville)
    .32 ACP
    .38 Long Colt
.38 S&W (not .38 special but an earlier cartridge)
    .44 Russian
    .32 S&W short
    .32 S&W long
    .45 Colt
    9x19mm (Egyptian military)

Military Rifle: Non-ball loadings listed below the ball listing.
    7.62x54R (Russian, Yugoslavian)
    Czech Low-Recoil, Czech blank
    7.35 Carcano (Italian)
    8x50R Lebel (French)
    7.92x57 Mauser (Romanian, Turkish, Egyptian)
7x57 Mauser (German, French, and Spanish military. Also old UMC and WRA commercial.)
.303 British (Pakistani, British, Greek, Canadian, Portuguese, Spanish, Indian)
    Belgian Tracer, Serbian Mk8z
    .43 Spanish (unheadstamped)
    7.62x51 (German, Greek)
    7.65 Argentine (Belgian)
.30-06 (covert US loading produced for the Bay of Pigs invasion)
7.62x39 (Chinese, military type headstamp, but I'm not sure if it was produced for the military or commercial export to the US.)

    Civilian Rifle:
    9x57 Mauser
    .25-35 Winchester
    .244 Remington
    .32 Self-loading

    Miscellaneous:
    .22 short and long rifle
    .22 colibri
    .32 rimfire
    12 gauge paper shotshells
    16 gauge paper shotshells

    Interested in:
I'm trying to get representative samples of most any cartridge civilian or military. I've got a fair number, but there are plenty I don't have. For military cartridges I collect by headstamp, so even different dates from the same arsenal interest me. Open to any and all offers.

In terms of particular cartridges I'd like to find:
    Military .45 ACP
    Military .303 British
    Military 7.92x57 Mauser
    Military 7x57 Mauser
    Any .577/450 Martini-Henry

I prefer to trade several cartridges at a time instead of two or three due to cost/difficulty of shipping.

I'll look and see if I've got anything particularly interesting in my collection, but Ammoman has surely got me beat.

The bullet weighed 175 grains, Diameter measured .300 and the core weighed 80.4 grains.

Notice the cannalure is cut to the core of the bullet. For some reason I can not post pic of the base of the complete bullet. It's interesting looking also, will try to modify pic to post later.

    Bogwalker,

I would like to trade for some of your other 303 rounds. Specifically Canadian, Portuguese, Spanish and Indian. Do you have any interest in the 8mm Mauser rounds I posted earlier in the thread? Or perhaps a different head stamp 8x56R or 6.5x53R Dutch steel case ?

Anybody that has 30-40 they want to part with, let me know. I'm still shooting it.

I would be happy to part with some of those Imperial cartridges for you to try out. Got anything interesting to trade for them?

Edit: My mistake. Your asking for 30-40 and the Imperial is 32-40.

As an off shoot of my metallic cartridge collection, I started sorting my .45 ACP range brass and pulling out different head stamps.
I now have 42 different manufacturer head stamps.

    .
The 45ACP is one of those cartridges where the cases go by so fast it just a blur. I just drop them in the Dillon and go.

I didn't know there were that many 45ACP manufacturers. Shows how widely used that caliber is. The only headstamp that gives me problems is Amerc. They go in the scrap bucket.
