Really missed the Wizard and BA over the weekend. Hope you two are feeling better soon. Just north of Lexington for the night on my way to S Carolina. Looks like I have squirrel hunting company coming in next weekend. Might have to make some blackberry cobbler.

I understand you made that delicious bread.....

I will get back down and you can run the guts out of the 10mm. I promise.

Morning folks. Good times this weekend. Thanks to patience0830 for hosting and for making some pretty tasty food. Gavin had a great time so thanks to everyone for allowing him to come along.

I will say I was quite proud of him. I think he handled himself well and was not afraid of anything that he got to try. That was by far the most shooting he has done.

Thanks, I was really looking forward to being there. I was down hard for four days. Still feel like crap but back at it.

You have done very good with him. He was very safe, and he had a lot of eyes on him.

There are some pictures posted and a video of a certain person shooting a S&W .500 on Phalanx Armory’s Instagrams website.

No pun intended, but that thing was a blast to shoot. Thanks again MfM for bringing it along. I may need to go shopping for one some day.

One thing that I discovered is that I have to work on long arm skills a whole bunch more than I have in the past. I found that with the missing area of vision in my right eye, I have to look below the target and try to sight using peripheral vision. When I look directly at the target, the reticle drifts in and out of the spot. I was hoping it would be better with the red dot but it really was not. I'm thinking that with practice, I can get better at shooting with the messed up eye but also seeing KJQ running right hand stuff while shooting left handed and making it look easy to hit stuff that way, let's me know that if need be, I can try to shoot long arms lefty if the right eye doesn't cooperate.

Right handed, but extremely, left eye dominant. The Army made me shoot left handed. Iron sights or scopes are typically shot left handed, red dots are usually right handed. I'm a freak.

Yup. Bread was mine. Some molasses, whole wheat and white flour in about equal measure, 2 C warm water, some dry yeast, 1/2C rolled oats and a little grape seed oil. Relatively healthy stuff.

Maan, it was good to have you and Gavin. Wish you coulda stayed for the long range stuff. My 6.5 has a collapsible stock and is a *****cat to shoot. Ask the mouse!

We aim to do it again next year around the same time if the stars will line up for us again.
