It looks like a wedding photo to me
Maybe the guy with the gun is trying to talk some sense into the groom......

    Yeah I got nothing

Talk sense in to him? No...he's forcing groom to marry his daughter since he knocked her up! In today's world we don't have shotgun weddings, we have pistol weddings.

ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.

Violating that is improper gun handling.

Is there any positive reason to violate or ignore something so simple and reasonable?

Is there any negative excuse that would even begin to make sense?

    No, there simply isn't.

It'd be good to crosspost that image somewhere where the fools involved and at the same time the naive might learn from it.
MyTwitterFace, or other social media??? :dunno:
Maybe link them back to here for a proper education?

    I have two...
    1. you're filming an action adventure movie
    2. the person is a threat where deadly force is warranted

    Jury?

But isn't pointing your gun at the threat now the safest place to point it?

    Exactly.

And, if you're filming a movie with real functional guns pointed in unsafe directions, you're making a choice to handle them unsafely/improperly.

There are countless more steps that could be added to mitigate the risks, if this is reasonably deemed worth it or necessary to you, but doesn't change that fact.

Jury says, "keep trying until you exhaust yourself". ;)
