Some actresses/activists went to protest yesterday and screamed that they were "arrested" for protesting.

    No, they weren't.

Amy Schumer And The Media Unintentionally Show Us How A Fake Story Is Created

Emily Ratajko---whatever tweeted that she was arrested for protesting.

"Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault. Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power."

The narrative they’re going for is that people were getting arrested for speaking out against Kavanaugh, which can lead to a whole host of accusations. Things like “Trump is arresting people for free speech,” or “society still doesn’t like women who speak out,” or “we still live in a culture that supports rapists,” etc, etc, etc.

Only, none of this is what actually happened. Yes, Schumer and Ratajkowski were led away by police, but that happened by request.

TWO days later, on a Sunday afternoon,NBC tacks a correction on:

    https://mobile.twitter.com/NBCNews/status/1050901081537073155

I don’t believe for a minute that first tweet was unintentional.

Well, Lee was a good General.
And Grant was, in that he realized he had the men and material to bulldoze through a lot of problems.
A lot of problems that previous Generals were trying to use finesse, but didn't have the troop or leader quality to use finesse.
Lee regularly thrashed opponents many times his own size.

Unfortunately, too many of the morons out there don't believe in learning lessons from opponents or the past.
Of course, if I had to fight them, then I'd be okay with them not wanting to learn lessons.

Lee was an awesome general who believed in a lost value (except not lost on texans) that states ARE sovereign to the federal government. Your loyalty should belong to your state first, after god.
Lee was a brilliant general and if his orders would have been followed he would have beaten the union and I believe they would have surrendered under conditions giving us 2 countries today. The union had more men, they didnt have more heart or more brilliant tacticians.
General Lee is still studied in military leadership courses today

Sort of fits here, with how the media is running with it... thinking it's a narrative victory.

Elizabeth Warren did a DNA test. Turns out, she has some native american in her.

    1/512

Which does not meet the standard for Native American ancestry. But the media is spinning it as a "gotcha" against Trump.

Do they abide by the "even one drop" racist view?

    "Strong evidence" this is not.

I think the operative question is: Did she even know about the ancestor 6 to 10 generations ago when she made the claim?

My bet no. She made the claim not thinking that anyone would ever challenge it. She lucked out by having any Native American DNA.

In April 2012, The Boston Globe sparked a campaign controversy by reporting that from 1986 to 1995 Warren had listed herself as a racial minority in the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Directory of Law Teachers.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that before you start claiming some sort of minority status, maybe Granny's stories ought not be your only source.

    Holy crap...

    https://www.bostonglobe.com/news/po...rican-issue/YEUaGzsefB0gPBe2AbmSVO/story.html

Detecting DNA for Native Americans is particularly tricky because there is an absence of Native American DNA available for comparison. This is in part because Native American leaders have asked tribal members not to participate in genetic databases.“The tribes have felt they have been exploited,” explained Lawrence Brody, a senior investigator with the Medical Genomics and Metabolic Genetics Branch at the National Institutes of Health. “The amount of genetic data that is available from Native Americans is sparse.”
To make up for the dearth of Native American DNA, Bustamante used samples from Mexico, Peru, and Colombia to stand in for Native American. That’s because scientists believe that the groups Americans refer to as Native American came to this land via the Bering Strait about 12,000 years ago and settled in what’s now America but also migrated further south. His report explained that the use of reference populations whose genetic material has been fully sequenced was designed “for maximal accuracy.”

Not even "real" NA used in this report. WTF

    It's been corrected and downgraded...

    https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/20...h-warren-is-1-1012-native-american-not-1-512/

She lied about being "native american" to get ahead in her career.

The same way obama did with "foreign student" "not foreign student".

... So essentially, she's an average American.

No, even average Americans probably have more NA in their blood than she does.

I really don't understand the strategy on this... just push the misleading headlines and hope no one looks into it?

That's the spin from the NPC's out there right now, I'm seeing it in comments in various places.

"She claimed she had native american ancestry and this test proves it..." .1% be damned.

    .

To be fair to Grant he had a bit more strategery than just "bulldoze." E.g. Vicksburg. "Bulldog" might be better than "bulldoze", in that he would not quit. If he took one on the chin, he didn't withdraw and ponder, he simply worked out another line of attack.

The point is, Donald lost the bet. He'll welch on the bet for sure, because that's just who he is.

Wasn't the bet to prove she has Native American heritage? How does 1/1024 fit that requirement? By law and any reasonable standard, 1/1024 doesn't cut it. The many lies she's told about it over the years show that she was hoping it was much higher... Even as close as a couple generations.

Note that NPR is falling for it.

Transcript isn't up yet, but they interviewed an official from the Cherokee nation who says that being a Cherokee is way more than just DNA, and Warren ain't Cherokee.

Is it fake news if some clown gets 18,000 Facebook shares out of a staggeringly false post about a SCOTUS decision & Justice Kavanaugh?

    https://www.overlawyered.com/2018/1...ater-a-tale-of-legal-misinformation/#comments

First phrase of the first sentence of the post: "Brett Kavanaugh made his first decision on the Supreme Court today, …" followed by all the horrible things Brett did to homeless/indigenous voters.

Second sentence of the actual SCOTUS decision: “JUSTICE KAVANAUGH took no part in the consideration or decision of this application.”

And it goes down hill from there. Follow the link and RTWT.

ThinkProgress and a few other mainstream Liberal outlets have thrown Warren under the bus on her "Native American" claim situation.

Looks like they're going to find someone else for 2020.
