I think those grade school water colors exemplify complete disrespect they have for this country, the office of the president and this countries traditions. May they be laughed at for millennia, may they be derided and joked about, may this be their enduring legacy.

I wouldn't put the blame on the Obama's, at least without more. The paintings were commissioned by the National Gallery who also chose the artists, I have no idea how much input the Obama's had.

Obama said that she and President Barack Obama interviewed several artists for their portraits, and that she bonded with Sherald because of all the time they spent together.
