and now, to bring the property values of this thread crashing down, is my pos. going to need some tlc in the form of carb work this off season, but i bought it for $40 3 or 4 years ago and the only thing i've done to it so far is buy a new spark plug. guess i can't complain, although i can be jealous of all the nice machinery in this thread.

I have an old TORO snow blower that looks for all the world like that one...but red. It runs great and worked great for our old house. It's a little out of it's league at our new place.

This is how I get my winter exercise.

My wife thinks I'm insane, but I like the snow, and I like being out in it shoveling. It's invigorating.

I think it's admirable that you want to get your exercise doing good, old-fashioned work.

In fact, I admire it so much, that next time we get 17.5", I'll let you exercise over at my place.

    Here is mine.

    shovelpic.jpg

My back is hurting just looking at that.
I used to actually enjoy shoveling.

I like the blower better than the blade also. But I just got a Deere this last spring, and I don't have the $$$ to pony up for one of those.
My craftsman blower will just have to get me by.

    If it works, it works.
A small working one is better than a larger one that don't start.

And my Zeus (deceased) making sure it's not going anywhere.

These pics are dated 2007, I think that's when I got it.
I had a bad back, and I was going to get one..... at the end of winter. You know, catch a sale, save some $$$.
And then, I shoveled too much, and had to miss a week of work.
Well, that showed me. Instead of saving a couple dollars, I cost myself a LOT.

Last winter or winter before, I dropped it taking it off the back of a truck.
So the snow sheet metal is kinda bent.

The starter gear is chipped and needs to be replaced.

This winter I sucked a telephone book into the lift auger.

    So it isn't so shiny.
    But it pull starts.
    And it throws.

I almost took out the front lamppost glass the first year.

John Deere 1025r 25hp diesel 4wd. I used the Front End Loader and a rear plow to clear my gravel lane this winter. I have a box blade pictured in the photo below.

Ahh what a great thread. Here is mine. I recently restored a 1976 john Deere 210. Had a blast the few times we had enough snow to get it out.

I hope you all have them serviced & gassed up and ready to go! The season has officially began. I managed to get mine out and ready before the first snow fall this year. :rockwoot:She runs like a champ. Although I did need to adjust the shift cable. I could not get it to go in to second gear reverse.
