Why do I get the impression this is going to end up like a restaurant scene:

Donner party! Party of nineteen, Donner party party of .... oops, sorry!
Donner party! Party of eighteen, Donner party, party of ... oops, sorry!
    Donner party! Party of seventeen.......

I remember back when Bubba C was prez, republicans and libertarians were sorta allied. Then the Rs moved left and the Ds moved even lefter, and now both are in agreement and hate the Ls. I guess both ends of that two headed pig feel threatened.
The whole nation has shifted left socially. As I remember it, most Republicans are more like Gerald Ford than Ronald Reagan. Centrists now accept what they wouldn't accept 40 years ago. What I have seen change in our political structure is that the centrists don't have the majorities that they used to have. Even though the median has shifted left, the left has gotten lefter and the right has gotten righter.

Rick Perry announced his run today... and it actually sounded pretty awesome. I'm a pretty big Rick Perry fan. Even had his own written music lead in. Some of the people on the stage behind him are the Luttrell brothers, Taya Kyle, Brad Thor...

Pushes a great message about smaller gov and more power to the states. He's done a lot for TX, and has far more leadership than any of the Democrat hopefuls

Too many of them are in it simply for the exposure. They know they dont have a shot, but they will get TV time, they will be known as "Former Presidential candidate........." and they can write books later on and they can comment during the later stages on TV. The Dems have hilary and bernie. Two awful socialist wackos, but that doesnt matter, they have 2 for the liberal wackos to all get behind and love and praise and go crazy for, while the right will bicker and trash each other for a while until all the dirty laundry is out in the open without the democrats having to do a thing. So dumb.

While he wasn't perfect and made some mistakes, he did do a pretty good job down in my favorite state.

    ^^I agree.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told Americans on Thursday not to vote for him in the 2016 presidential election if they are worn out by war.
The 2016 GOP presidential candidate appeared on Fox News’s "Fox & Friends," where co-host Steve Doocy questioned his past war hawk rhetoric.
“It’s a tough message,” he told Graham. “A lot of people are just worn out by war.”"Well, don’t vote for me," the Republican senator responded. "Don't vote for me, because I’m telling you what’s coming: Barack Obama’s policies leading from behind are going to allow another 9/11."

"[ISIS] is large, rich and entrenched,” he added, referring to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. “If I’m president they will be poor, small and on the run.”
Graham also said that U.S. ground forces were necessary for defeating ISIS before they could reach targets on American soil.
“I’m trying to tell the American people and the Republican primary voter — the only way I know to defend this country is to send some of us back to Iraq and eventually to Syria to dig these guys out of the ground, destroy the Caliphate, kill as many of them as you can, hold territory and help people over there help themselves,” he said.

    Don't worry, Mr. Graham. I won't.

I just can't see myself voting in a primary or the general election again (at least not for a candidate that could possibly win).

I'm rather ashamed that I ever did.

Why? He's not crazy. He's not stupid. He's simply evangelical. Therapy wouldn't change that.

Crazy? Yes. Stupid? Eh, he gets by I suppose. This is the same guy that voted against relief for Hurricane Sandy but begged and pleaded for money when the floods hit Texas these past weeks. So you can add hypocritical to the list.

Cruz graduated c u m laude as a Prinston undergrad, magna c u m laude from Harvard Law school. He won best speaker in national debating championships.

Just because we think his politics are poopy doesn't mean he's stupid, or crazy. He is a politician. They tend to do **** like that. Your favorite politicians may have done **** like that too.
