Get a Sig P220. You keep the .45ACP part and get a Sig.

Nice suggestion...I don't know, I guess I want to purchase a HQ 9mm, and I found that in Sig. I know there are MANY more contenders, but I'm partial to Sig's beauty. I did look into the P220, and I like it, I really do. But, for a .45 I'd like it to be the OG 1911. :D

the 1911 is a much better 45 choice. Either you can have an 8 shot 45 with the gold standard of triggers, or and 8 shot 45 with a higher bore axis, long heavy DA, long reset, and DA/SA transition to learn.

1911 hands down over the 220.

I have a couple 1911s, and don't take this the wrong way, maybe it won't apply to you, but part of me keeps saying that I really don't have one because I don't have a Colt...

Great, just what I need; more bad ideas in my head! :D

I'd love to buy a Colt, as I feel they are the go-to 1911's. They're just too damn expensive for me right now! :(

Let me ask everyone who voted for the 1911 this question; Are you Sig Sauer fans? Ever owned/shot one?

Also, let me ask the same question to those who voted for the Sig. Are you 1911 fans? Ever owned/shot one?

Ive owned and shot a sig, p229, I really liked it, it was a very nice and accurate gun, I recently traded it for a stainless colt 1911 and given the opportunity, I wouldn't trade back

    I'm a big Sig fan.
I have owned a P226 in 357 Sig. Loved that gun. Sold it here, and tried to buy it back not too long ago. Shot a bunch more. Love the metal framed Sigs, can't stand the plastic sigs.

On my "to buy" list, I've got another P226R, and a few of the X5 series. But they're well below the Wilson/Bear/Brown 1911s on the to buy list.

Not a huge fan of either 1911 or Sigs, but given the choice, and not knowing exactly what else you have in the stable, I'd probably go with the 1911. Nice addition to any collection, and lots of aftermarket, etc fun to be had.

You won't regret purchasing the Springfield 1911 Tactical Combat. I bought mine a few years ago and would have a awfully tough time selling it.

I voted 1911 because that will be my next purchase. The last time I had enough $$ for a 1911 I ended up buying 2 guns, 1 new and one used. If I had that to do over again, well lets just say I still really want at 1911.
