I started out carrying a 357 back in the 80's, then would only carry a 1911, cocked and locked. Then I went to a 9mm ( Nowadays I carry a 380 )and don't really feel underpowered but, how do you feel about about the 380?

It's marginal at best. Better than nothing but not by much.

Why are the people who bash the 380 never willing to stand up and take one for the team?

My first guess as to "why" would be because they aren't stupid. It's not my first conclusion about people who ask that question like it's an arguement FOR a 380 though.

I wouldn't stand up and take a jab from a hat pin for the team either but it's not going to be my first choice as a defensive weapon. Not to say I wouldn't use it if I had it in my hand or that it's not better than nothing or a 44 at home in the drawer. None of that is very convincing to me for carrying one though. I DO think it would be perfect for YOU as a back up for your 380 though.:dunno:

Actually, it's better than nothing by quite a frickin' lot. Unless you are aware of a barehanded technique that can punch .355 caliber holes in vital organs or disrupt the central nervous system from 10 feet away that I'm not aware of.

the trauma that could have been inflicted on that idiots internal organs is staggering.

What if his "FRIEND" missed the taget?

This is darwinism at its finest.

All i can say, is WOW!

i'm a fan of the concealability of the .380, but the cost of ammunition is too prohibitive to get the range time i'd feel comfortable with as a carry gun

I have a Bersa Thunder 380. Totally reliable, accurate and priced right.
If you know how to use it, Corbon DPX ammo could bring a serious hurt
    to a bad guy.
Having said that, ammo is way to expensive, which can cut down on
valuable practice time. Also, 9mm ammo is far cheaper, and the pistols
can be carried just as easily as any 380.

Which 9mm pistol is the same size as an LCP and weighs less than 10 ounces?

None that I know of. However, the Kel - Tec PF9 is 12.7 ounces and can
be carried just as easily, in my opinion. Close enough to make my point.

I'm definately not an expert, but I really enjoy firing 380's. I also like plinking with 22's as well. But the price of the 380 has me using my 9mm instead at the range.

I have wondered though, of the capability of the 380 in cold climates when everyone is wearing heavy coats. I'm not sure of the depth of penetration in that situation. That's why I carry my 9mm in the winter.

    I don't know. I can put a LCP/P3AT in my back pocket (holster.) I can't put a PF9. I've tried.

Now a Archangel... that would be the schnizzle.
