Well, the 2016 result was pretty bad, but I was focused on Dems being the gun grabbers.... I wasn't in denial about that.

All they would have to do is pass a ban on all semi-auto rifles and handguns. Doesn't matter if it is unconstitutional, pass it anyhow.
Then get some lying 9th circuit puppet to say it is fine and start confiscating and crushing lots of guns while they delay it getting to the supreme court.
Lots of guns would be gone forever. I would be a dead felon and the supreme court can't fix any of that.

Our country and western culture in general are on the decline. The Democratic experiment has eclipsed the half way point. There are too few left who understand the value and cost of liberty, and too many who look for their personal benefit above all other things.

We will see a continued expansion of the welfare state, and a continued decline in personal liberty. Eventually the welfare state will devolve into socialism as hedonism runs rampant. When that flame burns the last embers of the productive society it fed upon things will fall into chaos and ruin.

The United States will either fracture, or be invaded, or both. At which point we will likely be either Communists, or Islamists, as those are the two most militant of all the muscular ideologies in the world.

I give it another 200 years before it all ends up the in toilet. Maybe a hundred if things continue to accelerate.

The only disagreement I would have is I think you are optimistic on the timing. I am afraid that once we begin to fall, it will go quick.

Well in this case it is my opinion that if it gets to the point of confiscating guns then many will give up their guns like they did in Australia and many will not. The fan will get hit and then things will get crazy. This country would go into a bad place and "we - the country" will not be the same. Bad stuff.
