Two ships in two months , wonder when this becomes a pattern .
It's been happening for as long as I can remember.
So we are just now hearing about this.
Four since start of year. USS Antietam ran aground in Tokyo bay, and USS Lake Champlain collided with a South Korean fishing vessel.
My suspicious nature makes me wonder if the opening move of an asian conflict might begin by asian captained merchant vessels "accidentally" ramming US warships in the area.
Kind of hard for a lumbering slow merchant to be able to do that if the warships crew has their heads on.
My question is, "How do you miss seeing something the size of an oil tanker?"
For military service who's job is to see ships, and then shoot said ships, they are doing a pretty lousy job at the first part and aren't inspiring much confidence for the second part.
