You wonder boys keep hounding them about it and you'll see the dreaded signs out front sooner or later. I'm sick of reading about it, I can't imagine how fed up they are with responding to every lawyer wanna be in every little podunk in the country whining about it and on the other hand they surely have the whiners on the other side wanting them prohibited.

If I were "Mr. Walmart" I'd have just posted it off limits a long time ago and told every one to shut up or get out a long time ago and been done with it.

    ^^^^ worthless opinion, worthless post.

the day they get tired of their CUSTOMERS who pay their exorbient salaries, questions is the day i will stop shopping there.

the day they put up signs that say NO WEAPONS ALLOWED: is the day i will cc everytime i go there anyways. what if i attack one of their managers with a scarry ball point pen?? gonna ban those too?

home is a lot different than a public store, because stores must obey civil rights laws, you as a home owner dont.
if you start judging customers by the way they look i think you would get sued real quick and rightly so. you cant judge a book by its cover. theres a difference in "looking like a thug or freak" and being a criminal with malous intentions. our society is so concerned with what their idea of "looking perfect" is that it makes me sick. maybe i dont think soccer moms driving mini vans look "normal" maybe they scare me (especialy the way they drive), maybe your "average" housewife that looks "normal" but runs over me with her grocery cart the day after thanksgiving just to get to something first, scares me? dont we think its wrong when kids bully other kids at school because they "look different" ? then why do we do it even to a greater extent as adults? wearing a gun is a "normal" everyday thing. people who look different are a good thing, and until we as citizens realize that then we will never truely have an open society. dont fear and judge people by their appearance, judge them by their actions.

to the OP, thanks for putting in the effort to mail them and then post their response. at least we know now that they are wishy washy about it.

A store is private property and they can use discretion on a case by case situation if they choose to do so. I have spent nearly 2 decades in retail management where we sold guns. To see open carry didn't bother me but when its thugs acting suspicious, Im gonna excercise my right to use discretion. And here's some other news for ya, If I were working TSA, and some taliban looking guy is praying to Allah as he's coming through my line, I'll be checking him out very well too. YES I WILL PROFILE PEOPLE AND IM NOT ASHAMED OF IT. I am a product of my environment, experiences, training and education. My goal is to protect my ass and the good people around me, not peoples feelings for being profiled. Sometimes if you wait to judge someones actions,
    its too late.
Im not against open carry, Im just trying to you to put yourself in others shoes form time to time.

I believe that stores are a public accomadation (sp) and should have to follow the law of the state they are in, much like Starbucks does.

Jack if you are sick of reading about it then don't look at a thread about walmart! You are no better then walmart, because you don't like it we should stop doing it? I don't like a lot of your posts so you should get off the site!

No, people should stop hounding Walmart for permission to do something they are NOT FORBIDDING YOU TO DO MORON.

They are a deep discount distributor of Chinese crap not Snopes. They are in the business of seperating you from your money not the referee of goof ball arguements.

    Like that any better?

well with my background i think i have very good situational awareness. im not saying not to keep a hidden eye out for those people you feel suspicious, but dont harrass them either. some cultures, black, hispanics, arabs, italians, new jersyans(:D), rednecks, etc. ..... have very short fuzes when you **** them off and you may cause more problems by violating their rights just because they look like a thug. I cant tell you how many functions ive been to that have off duty police officers there, and in civies they would fit right in in any ghetto neighborhoos in indy, and youd never know they were cops. DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!! now your analogy of a muslim praying in the middle of an airport ....... yeah search that mo fo!!!! at minimum hes probly retarded (or trying to start a civil suit), but theres a difference between an airport and a ghetto-mart.

Guys, do your thing. Argue this side or that side, but its still going to be a "case-by-case" basis. OC if you want, CC if you want, call each other a*****es if you want. But that's not changing the fact that people who carry are in the minority. When that changes, the social acceptance will too. And that's what this is all about.

I bought my boy a Cricket .22 rifle for his 5th birthday last year and I bought it at the Greencastle super Wal-Mart and man you would have thought I was buying a fully automatic weapon, The guy was a complete idiot and kept telling me I filled the form out wrong and they would not accept it, I told him I had just bought three guns in the past month and I filled out every form like it the same way and they all went through! Well he did not like that and treated me like a criminal after he called it in and approved it he called the store manager and he looked me up and down and then read it over? and said ok, then he told me he would have to "escort" me outside the store with the rifle,
the whole process took about 45 minutes to buy a dang .22 rifle???? I will never buy another gun at Wal-Mart ever again! :xmad:

And short fuses aren't just a minority trait, as shown by the people in this thread.

not saying i dont have a short fuse myself for stupidity. but i also dont act like an idiot in real life and start screaming at people or starting fights. big difference in an internet rant and picking a fight in real life. theres only a few RARE cases where i would make someone eat floor, and they would be well justified.

I think I got the bickering posts out of here. Please no arguing or name calling. Take it to PM. Having a difference of opinion is fine. If we didn't have that, it'd be a boring world. If you have a problem with someone, please put them on your ignore list or take it to PM. Yes, they are sometimes quoted and you see that but just try and ignore the person. Thank you. You may continue.. (the conversation, not the arguing) :D

Lots of stores escort ya out the door now. It's kind of funny, seeing as how I've got a loaded gun on my side, but I just treat it as a celebratory parade. I'm sure the irony isn't always lost on them, either. At least one store escorted me out with my new purchase.... just after I finished letting a couple of those same employees check out the XD9sc I was wearing at the time LOL.

Does anyone know if conceal carry is allowed in Walmart due to the fact they do sell alcohol; that means they have liquor license. I know in most states, carrying is not allowed in at a place with liquor license. In fact, I just read there was a case in Arizona where a guy almost ended up in the court due to the fact he had a gun in a Walmart. Luckily, that Walmart was the only one in the area that did not sell alcohol.

That's correct...that was the case where the guy shot the killer who was about to fatally stab a woman in Walmart; then all the anti-gun nuts in the area picked on the issue of carrying in a place with liquor license.
