Hmm... a competent 5" 1911. Had a cheapie that ran pretty well. Would like something a little nicer.

A southern mountain rifle, flint, in .45. Swamped barrel, but otherwise not overly ostentatious.

    The list goes on....

Well, since I've duped it anyway....

    A Marlin .444
    A nice 442 or 642,,
A .36 caliber flint squirrel rifle.
An 8 inch Taurus in .44 or .454
A really really nice over under built for a short guy like me.
    A 210.
A sig 1911 with the rounded carry profile butt.
    And still lots more.

I can afford it. But, there is a serious wait time. And, I'm more worried about the cost of ammo.

Upon looking into it a bit more - I'm not so sure that I want to use my current '97 to do a trench gun build.

I wish there were a modern interpretation of these old out-dated designs - other than the Norinco/Interstate Arms stuff.

A Rem 1887 would be fun, too, I think. Especially as an SBS.

I’d have an extremely hard time not buying a second gen. original finish glossy blue (finish being in great condition) CZ97b fully cajunized. Or stock. I’m not even a .45 guy. Something about that one just makes me happy.

I'd love to have an M1A. But between the cost, my hatred for Springfield for being such a bunch of backstabbers, and the fact that they've done nothing of any material value to make amends prevents me from even seriously shopping for one.

If you buy a used one, then Springfield doesn't get the money.

FAL is probably the top of the list. Honorable mentions are a Schofield replica in .45 LC, a duty-grade modernized 1911, an old .45-70 Marlin, an M1 carbine (repro is fine, I just want a reliable shooter), a 5.56 Galil, and a Colt 1903.

Remington Autoloading Rifle. Not a model 8, not a model 81, the original Autoloading Rifle.
    A decent M1 Garand
    Luger P08
    Ruger Gp100 Royal Phoenix.

    Just to name a few...

In addition to my post upstream, I probably should add:

    1873 Springfield 45/70 (reproduction)
