Finally shot my hand cast bullets in 9mm that i made up the other day. This was my third attempt in getting a accurate load. Well today, it worked.

I used the Lee 120gr RNFP mold
Bullet sized to .357 (.356 was bad accuracy)
    4.0gr of W231
    OAL of 1.075
    .002 crimp

No leading and the accuracy was superb. Just thought i'd post this for anyone considering loading up a 9mm lead round.

I have been casting the same. I size to .357" also, and lube with Jakes Red. I DO have to heat for the Red to flow, but it works for me.

I run 3.8gr. of TiteGroup for around 1050fps. My CZ's will run at 3.6gr.(1000fps.) but my Glocks will not.
For me, like you, these are good loads in my guns-no lead+shoots well...Bill.

Shot 50 rounds of 45acp loaded with 4.2gr of Clays, 185gr Precision Delta JHP with an OAL 1.190.

Load is coming around, going to load some more with this combo and then add a .1gr to see if there is any improvement.

Finally tried out some rifle bullets today. I haven't loaded to many yet but they shot pretty good. The target was a steel plate about 20"x20" at 320 yards. First was my bull barrel AR doublestar i put together from a kit. Bullets were i believe pulled 55 grain fmj with IMR 8208xrb behind it. Pretty windy but it smacked the plate more than i missed. Sighted in for 200 and it was only about 6 -10 inches low at 320. Next was a Savage .243. Same powder as above but first was 60 grain HP. Hit a little better than with the 556. then tried some 75 grain v-max with same powder and couldn't miss. I guess the heavier bullet held up to the wind a little better or the rifle was liking that load. gonna try again later this week when the wind dies a little. Just thought it was pretty fun trying the different loads at that range.

nothing today yet, however, recently made 3 batches of 10 rounds each in .223 for testing. got rid of all that empty .308 brass i had lying around :p , and did research on some 9mm loads involving total metal jacket rounds.

Yesterday I took a new set of recipes using Berry's 124gr plated HPs to the range, they all shot great. 4.0, 4.2, 4.5 and 4.7gr Unique, the 4.0 was great for recoil, but I feel the 4.5 was the best accuracy. Brought home about 1000 pieces of brass to sort.

Took a couple .22's to the club today, ended up running into a buddy and playing with his new Kimber and his AR. He doesn't reload, so I even got to keep the brass!

Just got done sizing, trimming and priming 150 cases for 30 Carbine. This is one of the more time-consuming rounds to reload, due to the fact that these cases grow, like bottle-necked rifle cases, AND they headspace on the mouth, which makes case length critical. With my particular rifle, anything over 1.292" is likely to keep the action from locking up and anything shorter than 1.285" is likely to result in a light primer strike.

After sizing, most cases are in the 1.288" - 1.296" range, so I usually have to trim about 1/3 of them back a bit, which means chamfering and deburring. It also means I have to measure every single case after it's sized, which I never do with normal pistol ammo and I only spot check with bottle-necked cases.

This wouldn't be such a big deal, but we sometimes shoot a LOT of 30 carbine in a day, so there can be quite a few cases to size, measure, trim, chamfer, deburr and prime. I usually try to prep several hundred to a thousand cases, during the winter, so that all I need to do in order to shoot is charge and seat. Then, if we shoot a bunch at one time, they get labeled and set aside until the weather gets cold and I'm bored. :D
