With some recent events in the neighborhood I've been expecially vigilent on security issues.

I keep my 45 fully loaded and one extra clip loaded right beside it. An empty pistol is as useful as a rock.

I keep the guns that I might want for self defense loaded. This include my sig, a couple of 870's, glock 19, mini 14 and some others.

The guns that I don't keep loaded are things that I would not choose for self defense like my muzzleloader and the 870 that I hunt birds with.

sorry i disagree. All guns are NOT always loaded. if that were true then you would never clean them or repair them would you?

if you check and clear a firearm and have eyes on it, then the whole time you have eyes on it, it is UNLOADED. i hate that saying "all guns are always loaded" cause its so false

ive got 20ish 30 rd ar mags loaded at all times. loaded mags take up less space than unloaded mags and ammo. plus its convienent

Question...Why would I want or need to keep them all loaded?

Example...Im never going to need to run to the safe and grab a Model 700 in 280 because my front door was just kicked in
