    I'll vote, but this time around I'll just swallow the pill and vote for a third party. I considered it last time, but I REALLY didn't like Romney. I might've voted for Ron Paul, but it just sucks that a third party vote is basically a wasted voted.

    And I'll vote because too many people have died for me to sit on my ass and not do it. Casting the vote is the single most important freedom and it's spitting in the faces of those who've scarified to not cast the vote.

    And let me make one thing clear: I'm an open guy. I don't close my mind around anything and will listen and reevaluate my beliefs. Case in point I was one of those who advocated making AR-15s illegal and questioned why anyone needed a gun at all. I now am a life-time licensed gun permit carrier and I carry a gun with me everywhere (it's even one of those large clip sized ones -- 17rds).

    I won't be joining the NRA anytime soon (although that self-defense insurance looks mighty tasty), but I've certainly changed my mind on allowing people to carry and what should be "allowable" guns. I also plan to buy an AR-15 and a Ruger 10/22 for prepping.


    I believe any man who closes himself off to changing his mind is one who limits himself in a very grave way. The very thing that makes us better than the monkeys is that we have the ability to learn, reason, and evaluate/reevaluate.

    Well to me it sounds like you are headed in the right direction. I respect that you are open about your choices in the face of crazed opposition from some of the more theatrical characters here, and were still able to keep a civil tongue. You certainly seem to have potential, and I hope that next election we will have someone in the running that I can stand shoulder to shoulder with you in support of; a man that stands for true liberty.

    Honestly I'm not that angry. I've seen a lot of anger towards me with more than a few violent comments. I even had one guy tell me that I shouldn't have any of my freedoms which supersedes the death threats I got. But I understood those things when I came out as an "Obama voter". Someone made a comment about the election being fraudulent because "no one" he knew said they voted for Obama a second time. But then again, I was raised to not be a liar nor to be ashamed of who I am.

    My reasons for not voting for Obama are more or less because I wasn't going to vote for Romney. I didn't like some of things he stood for, I didn't like how he treated people (the Ampad company from Marion, IN), and other reasons. Had there been another viable candidate with a chance of being elected, they may have seen my vote. I don't expect anyone to agree with me nor do I care if they do, but someone made a statement that I felt was untrue and I did the honest thing.

    So you vote Socialist. Got it.

    You picked the most destructive man this country has ever seen. You didn't like what Romney stood for, yet helped elect a Marxist Socialist, racist, America hater, who's close friends with a terrorist. Man, your judge of character is impeccable.

    I won't apologize for what I did, because I did what felt right to me and it's my right to vote for whomever I want, just as I don't hate anyone else simply because of their voting record. Too many young Americans died for that right and the real hate should go to those who don't vote and just discard all of the blood spilled for those rights.

    As I told you, as a serviceman myself, I am ashamed that my country elected this man. If I would have given my life, it would have been in vain, because Socialism won an election.     Yes...better candidates. Problem is, this starts out behind closed doors with people we know nothing about and care little for who or what we are. Follow the money.

    The process is corrupt/broken. Change has to come from the very bottom of the barrel...........Us.

    I do not agree with your vote but as I said...it is yours. You can not be threatened for using it as you see fit. You can not be belittled for choosing your candidate. I can however disagree with the choice. 2 way street.

    But in future...please consider the gun community of which you seem to be a part of.

    i enjoyed reading what cpt had to say. i find it harsh in some places, but he has the right to say what he feels.
    streak. i would say it takes a big set to come onto ingo and admit you voted for oboner, Twice. you also have the right to vote how you want, and you have the right to tell people how you voted. just dont start crying when someone gives you a little written abuse for it. if you cant handle the ridicule, then dont admit to doing dumb things.
    i think making mistakes are ok, we all make them. voting for obama the first time was a mistake. but to do it twice? and then come onto ingo, and say you are not sorry, and are completely unwilling to admit you screwd up is most likely what has reallybothered cpt. i know it bothers me.

    Advocating physical harm goes beyond verbal abuse. If you want to call me a fool or an idiot, by all means that's your right. You don't have a right to advocate my death or physical harm. All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness -- if you know the Constitution and if you love and understand the Constitution then you inherently agree with me.

    I respect CPT's right to hate me. I respect his right to think I'm an idiot. I deny, to him, the taking away of my Life, Liberty, or Happiness and I would not attempt nor promote the taking away of any American citizen's rights and as I learn and understand new things I reevaluate my own opinions and vote accordingly.

    I've done this with gun rights and I'll continue to do this.


    Lastly it doesn't take a set of anything to come onto an internet forum or anywhere else and express one's views. That's the beauty of America -- I have that right and so do you. Never be afraid to express it and never bow to nor fear those who would oppress you. Our Founding Fathers weren't afraid of expression and back then it was either win the war or die. We're fortunate to not have to be in the "or die" position.

    I know that's probably not what you meant, but there is a huge difference between happiness, and the pursuit of it. Suggesting that "happiness" is a right is very dangerous.

    People seem to do more research over what kind of washer and drier to buy than when choosing the most powerful man on Earth, sadly enough. We've got Consumer Report, Angie's list, and so on for that stuff, but for president a simple slogan like "Hope and Change" or "I'm not George Bush" is all it takes.

    the only problem is, i did not see where he threatened your life. maybe he did and i just did not see it. i did see him express his opinion. i do not agree with all of it. but i believe hehas the right to express himself, as do you.
    i for one do not like people who make mistakes, and then are not willing to own up to them.
    but that is not my problem. you are the one that has to live with your decisons.
    i may not agree with your opinions, but i will fight for your right to express them. that goes for everyone here.

    I think he's saying that some day, you may cross someone who is at least as caustic and willing to commit violence over matters that can't be solved with violence. Your anger does not make you more capable in that situation.
