The things I tend to be critical of are the story and plot holes. I don't expect them to be true to the comics. Telling a story in 2 hours on a moving picture isn't the same as telling a story in a comic book. They get to have creative license as long as it works. I'm disappointed in WW but really for the ending.

It is amazing how many folks actually do not catch these holes and miscues.

I'm the same way. But I had to stop the nitpicking. But there are times that the movie's plot holes are so big that you can't dodge it. LOL. Believe it or not, to see the fight and destruction in comic book frames and seeing time live action, is so satisfying. Brings that inner child, wide-eyed look when seeing something awesome.

Just enjoy the ride man. Glad we get to see them in our lifetime.

I do get critical on other movies like Interstellar and The Martian (and other sci-fi, murder mystery, psychological thillers and cerebral types of movies), but in the end, I still appreciate them despite the holes I found.

All excellent points and articulated well. I too had to learn to ignore gun-related gaffs in movies -- if you don't, you're hurting your own enjoyment.

Overall the Wonder Woman movie was one of the most visually appealing experiences I've ever had in a movie theater.

For history sake, Superman pre crisis and post crisis, his character has become so powerful that writers were having a hard time being creative with villians against him and fans lost interest because of how powerful he was, remember Superman of 853 century? Hence in MOS, he was nerfed and brought down to earth to make him more relatable (his struggle to fit in, keeping his powers a secret, holding himself back, understanding human ways and putting everyone else first and himself 2nd). Knowing Superman's history, I was able to appreciate MOS and it actually was the closest to the canon Superman compared to Donner's version.

Superman's weaknesses are Kryptonite, Magic and himself (as he always holds back as his first value is to not kill).

As for Wonder Woman killing Doomsday, in her movie, she was made as a God Killer, and from the looks of it, the power she used was Zeus' lightning at it's highest potential. Even if that power was used against Doomsday, Doomsday (canon version) can not be killed twice the same way. He might have died when hit but regenerate instantly since the damage is not at the cellular/DNA level. And being his origin as a Kryptonian, kryptonite destroys living tissue at a cellular/DNA level. So that Spear was more potent than Zeus' lightning. But if He was ever revived, he might be immune to Kryptonite since he can't be killed twice in the same manner. Problem is, the lightning came from Ares, Diana might not have that ability to summon Zeus' lighting. Also, the trio don't know each other's abilities (if you played pick up games in basketball, you're trying to figure out how to play with each of your teammates and that takes time, which the trio didn't have).

The difference is with Diana and Kal-el, Diana was trained to the hardest since childhood. Kal in MOS, nothing, other than moral lessons from Jonathan Kent. And just weeks of learning his abilities and was fighting a military trained Kryptonian. It became Skills vs Raw abilities. I felt his struggles in MOS.

If you watch MOS and the BvS, so many scenes we comic based. They tried to stay true as possible but with such hardcore fans, they can never satisfy everyone.

And even if not as a fan, we have became so critical with movies that instead of enjoying the movie as it is, it becomes a graded project, which it isn't supposed to be. I have stopped myself from being so critical because it ruins a popcorn moment. Same thing with gun handling in movies. I had to conciously tell myself to stop judging and just enjoy the mindless moments.

I do enjoy Marvel's tie up of every movies and how they manage its timeline. I actually love Dr Strange (Never knew his canon or followed him when I was younger), I forgot to mention earlier in my post. That movie was one I enjoyed the most in Marvel cinematic universe.

To top it all, all our childhood animated/drawn heroes became a live action and I've enjoying the ride. Now bring Thundercats and reboot He Man.

We have it in 3d and the cinematic quality is very good, but the 3d is just okay.

We saw it at home. I can see this is one to have been enjoyed on the big screen.
My issue with going to see these films at the theater is the surround is turned up to "11" and after a while it is a bit overwhelming.
We have a pretty fair system so the experience at home is OK.

Small, hometown theaters. Corydon Cinimas is our theater of choice. Not as modern as the big name franchises. But the volume is almost always reasonable, and we don't freeze to death in the middle of August. And catch the last showing of a blockbuster movie on a Saturday night a week or two after opening and there's a good chance of having the theater to yourself.

Love the matinee middle of the week. Same deal.

    Could be anywhere
Okay, I've seen it and I don't get the comments on the end being over the top. From the beginning of the movie they basically play her as a weapon created by Zeus to kill gods, and she left the Amazonians to go kill one. I do wish I hadn't heard all they hype as the movie wasn't THAT good, it would have seemed better probably if I hadn't heard of it before seeing it. She did make a good WW though.

That is a wonderful woman but can she act.............................................or does it really even matter...:):

    It helps.

Honestly, even though I was disappointed in the WW movie, I'm actually looking forward to the justice league movie. I've never been a big fan of WW, but I like this WW character. I've never been a big Aquaman fan, but from the trailers, this portrayal seems pretty cool. I never really got into Cyborg so I don't know a lot about him, but looks pretty cool too.

And the DC characters that are my favorites, Batman and The Flash, we'll see. So far Batfleck hasn't been horrible, and sort of gets back to the comic's image of more of a brooding batman than the Nolan's Christian Bale portrayal of him. Flash? I'm not sure yet. The trailers haven't been that telling, but it looks like the effects will be amazing.

The DC movie universe has been more disappointing than not, for me at least. But I think I'm going to really like the justice league movies.

I was not disappointed as I actually watched it as pure entertainment which is a 1st for me but it made some of the plot potable at best.
I did read a lot of things related to the folklore of the gods when I was in school. Not much else to do after exhausting my Mothers paper backs from Hienlen Asimov and several others. English/history/math (past the basics) and Gov. classes were the worst for me. Total snoozers. Having a good book stashed in your text book was the only way I survived. Yes I passed and graduated.
