I have been harrased enough, of course I shouldn't have a record because all of the bs stops for no good reason shouldn't show on my record. Why would I even get a warning for any of the stops? I was obeying the law and got stopped!!

So, the officers just pulled you over to wish you a nice day? They actually said "Do you know why I pulled you over? You just came to a complete stop at that stop sign back there."?

I've been pulled over after making a complete stop... She said I didn't, I knew she was there so I made sure I did.
I had just came from an area with a few bars and it was 2am on a Friday night... she was fishing for a drunk driver... she didn't get one as I was just dropping lunch off for MrG at Navistar. (when it was still open)
They fish, sometimes they get a bite, sometimes they don't.

Then I'm confused. Is he complaining about getting constantly pulled over for fishing expeditions (so often that he barely has time for anything else), or complaining that he got a ticket for 72 in a 55? He seems to want "consistent enforcement" as long as it's for everyone else and not him.

This 55 speed limit on I-465 is just another example of government lies and corruption.

The posted speed limit on I-465 was originally 70mph until the so-called "fuel shortage" of the early 1970's when the Federal government "temporarily" lowered the speed limits from 70mph on interstates to 55mph, and from 65mph on 2 lane highways to 55mph to supposedly lower our national gasoline consumption.

We were ASSURED that this was just a SHORT TERM TEMPORARY measure, and the speed limits would ALL be restored when the "fuel shortage" had passed.
So we accepted it because we were PROMISED it was short term.

So in holding the government to what we were PROMISED, the speed limits ARE 70mph on interstates and 65mph on 2 lane highways, and have been for many years.

Sadly the police have been used a pawns in this lie when the government realized the money they could make from fraudulent speeding tickets.

I had to ask why I got pulled over and was told it was because I did make a complete stop and that was suspicious. This thread started out about me complaining that there is no equal enforcement but I thought I would throw in my experiences of getting harrassed while FOLLOWING the law. Either ticket everyone or change the speed limit, in my opinion, which none of you seem to give a @!#@ about, is that if you allow 99 percent of the population to drive 70 on 465, why on earth would the other 1 percent not believe this is acceptable behaviour? I will never get my point across to many of you. To me this is just a way for the government to rape our pockets because the top dogs need a pay day. I am not being childish about the situation, just explaining the truth, selective enforcement is not the law!

    Life is not fair

You cannot control how others drive

Because another person exceeds the speed limit and gets by with it doesn't make it legal for you to do so.

If you choose to speed, and get caught, it's nobody's fault but yours.

    It's really NOT rocket science.

DING, DING, DING!! And we have a winner. Grow up and quit complaining about your own personal choice to break the law. If you speed, you risk getting a speeding ticket. I speed and sometimes I get caught. Most of the time I get warnings. One time, I got a ticket. (Oh the humanity! Woe is me and I is woe!) I did not go on an internet forum and choose to complain about it.

Yet another one blind to the fact. I don't see why everyone is having such an issue seeing the point here. When you realize it is 0 percent to do with speeding and 100 percent to do with money LMK.

I personally feel like 72 is a good freeway speed, but if i got pulled over, i would know why.
Yeah...it's just the po-po messing with you.

    Eff the police!!! :):

OP...seriously. You were wondering why the police singled you out. I can assure you that if you were driving 72 MPH on I-465 you were passing most of the vehicles around you.

I drive I-465 a lot in my POV. Very few people take the chance and drive over 70. Those that do are playing the odds. I don't...I can't afford the ticket.

Does anyone know what happened with the cop that got video taped going north on I-65 in excess of 80 MPH and the video ended up on the news?

I'll tell you what should have happened.

He should have gotten a ticket. And so should the guy that was following him video taping it. :twocents:

I do honestly think the speed was set at 55mph to generate money because they know people aren't going to want to drive 55mph.

    Life's a crap shoot...you lost. :twocents:

If you see a LEO violating the law, their vehicle has several markings to identify it. License plate, commission number, etc. File a complaint.

If you feel you don't deserve the ticket fight it. Whatever you do...slow down. Speed kills. :twocents:

    Way Up North!!
I know of a guy last night on a motorcycle that got arrested. His license had been suspended since 1999. The plates on the bike expired 2 years ago. He was traveling +20 over the posted speed limit.

Honest to God's truth...the first thing he said was, "Why are you ****ing with me?"

    :n00b:

I can not even tell you how many times I've heard why you putting this on me!! or the ever famous "what did I do" and you have told them three times already! It's always the Mans fault!!

Oh and I have had one guy tell me that the pants he was wearing weren't his!!
