I have 3 that I carry. I mostly carry my Springfield XD40sc. I also carry the service model, and I have a Kel Tec PF9 I carry depending on what I am wearing. Both my XD's are carried in my Crossbreed Supertuck, and the PF9 is my Kholster. I feel completely safe carrying them with one in the chamber. In fact, I just heated the Kydex on my Crossbreed this morning to tighten the retention a little bit. I do not like appendix carry, my opinion, and damn sure not going to do it without a GOOD holster designed for it!

I have many different holsters and have carried a g27 and now a g23 most of the time. I carry the way it was intended, a round in the chamber, and a full magazine.

Now, BE SMART HERE, but I test my holsters somewhat frequently. I make sure it's cleared, then I put the weapon in a holster and try everything to pull the trigger. If you can pull the trigger while it's holstered, you have the wrong holster. I also see if I can pull the trigger while holstering. It took me some time to get comfortable with a smart carry, but I can not pull the trigger while the weapon is holstered. So as long as the trigger is completely PROTECTED (not just covered) I feel confident. In the USA crry article, I bet a quick inspection should have revealed that a finger could easily have pulled the trigger, let alone any other object.

And it's really not a matter of Glocks vs. other guns. It's a matter of carrying a loaded gun in the real world. People have been shot and killed back when they carried single actions when the hammer would snag on a rope or a branch and be cocked and released. Remember all those old holsters with a flap that covered the entire gun? They were slow but they were safe. You always have to consider the "what if" factor when carrying. Murphy runs the universe and he's always right behind you looking for an opening. Don't give him one. My feelings are if your carry rig leaves a lot of gun hanging out in the breeze it NEEDS a dependable safety that will stay engaged until YOU switch it off. Anything that can snag on stuff WILL. Gaston apparently never met Mr. Murphy.

    My carry guns are CZ-75, BROWNING HI-POWER, H & K USP, & the 1 9 1 1:rockwoot:all these guns have a FRAME MOUNTED SAFETY;)

Thats fine, that is what choice and diversity is all about. But a Glock or MP can be carried just fine without a safety, if carried in a GOOD QUALITY holster that is is decent shape.

And many that carried single action revolvers carried them with an empty chamber under the hammer.

I only own 2 Pistols with a Safety, A Kimber and a Taurus PT-911. Neither of which I carry very often. My EDC is usually either a Sig P220 or a P226. Neither of which have a safety. :dunno:

The article outlines two incidents of Mexican carry.

Remember kids Mexican carry kills and injuries, usually the operator. Any form of carry with an exposed trigger is a injury waiting to happen.

    I only know three things.

There are a lot of idiots carrying guns.

    Guns can kill ya.

    Concealed carry is "in vogue".

Combine those, and you got a story like this.
