If Romney wins, I hope all of his supporters put Romney stickers on their cars so I know who to blame when Romney orders the confiscation of firearms.
A vote for Romney is a vote for Obama.
We need to find a candidate the fits most of our beliefs and stick with him. No reason why a third party cant win and do some good. But, we would need a third party in all sectors to make it happen.
Look, as I see it. We have two losers running for president. We need to pick the less evil against us.
That's a good one.
I find it strange that those who believe that a person voting 3rd party is "giving" a vote to Obama, democrats, or...whatever.
Personally, if a 3rd party was not on the ballot here in Indiana, I would not vote for anybody at all for POTUS. So, how is that a vote for Obama, or Romney?
...Look, as I see it. We have two losers running for president. We need to pick the less evil against us....
It isn't and never really has been. It's not a vote FOR the D, but it's also not a vote AGAINST the D either. The issue is that when you have 100 people and 30 vote R and 40 vote D, the other 30 not voting can't cancel out enough Ds to keep the socialist out of office. The theory being presented is that only the R has a chance of keeping the D out of office because neither the L nor anyone else is going to get anywhere NEAR enough votes to do that. Now... If you like what the Ds do, that's OK. If you want others making the decisions for you and you just live within them, stay home and don't vote. If you want to be involved in decisions that impact your life, though, pick a side and stand up for your belief.
Mitt Romney said:Elect me and, if I have my way, bad things will happen. But! If you elect him and he gets his way worse things will happen.
...We have two losers running for president. We need to pick the less evil against us.
If you vote for a third party, you are throwing your vote away and your vote will count for nothing. Considering your vote will not help either candidate who is running. If you do vote for a third party and he wins, the Dem. and Rep. will still control congress and your person is still worthless in office.
We need to find a candidate the fits most of our beliefs and stick with him. No reason why a third party cant win and do some good. But, we would need a third party in all sectors to make it happen...
I completely agree. Even though I have Libertarian views, I voted for Romney, because he is the obvious lesser of the two evils. The last thing we need is a 2nd term, unaccountable Obama running wild for another four years.
I wish Libertarians as a group would make a major push to enter government on all levels, work to changes minds and share what they're all about. If Libertarians hold a number of lower offices and gain exposure, then they'll eventually be taken seriously for higher levels of office. Half of the Libertarian struggle is that many people don't know who they are, or what they believe. Once I found out what they supported, a couple years ago, it didn't take any explanation by anyone to change my mind or convert me to Libertarian thinking... I already agreed with 95% of Libertarian views.
As a libertarian, I will do what I can to promote our ideas, however I will not be so bull-headed as to vote for a Libertarian in a race that is tight between a "D" and an "R," when it is obvious one of the two will win regardless of my vote, and especially when one of the candidates would be so detrimental to our country.
Let's just look at firearm regulations, since this is INGO. If Romney wins... nothing, or very little will change... if he gets out of line the NRA will give him the big toe. Romney won't want to **** off the NRA. Without their constituents he wouldn't be reelected. ...Yes, I heard what Romney said in the debate regarding gun controls (which was unfortunate), but he won't do anything... Now let's look at Obama. He has been even more vocal about putting gun controls in place. Obama could care less about what the people want, and won't be concerned about getting reelected. Not only that, but if he is as radical as some seem to think, it's in his best interest to remove (or attempt to remove firearms) from the populace, so after a 2nd term (God forbid) he'll have the option to make up a reason not to step aside for another president, and face little serious resistance.
I don't want to see a 2nd term Obama... he would be so extreme, I think it would make 1st term Obama look like a far right nut-job.
