Received my XDS 9mm Thursday (11/14) afternoon. Came back in a small black case with the 9 round magazine. Perfect timing for me. Just came home for lunch & about 5 minutes later FedEx was knocking on my door. Can't wait to try it out this weekend.

I sent my XD-s .45 in on 9/6 and they received it on 9/9. I just checked and it says my gun has been fixed. I haven't received an e-mail with a shipping confirmation yet but I assume it will come shortly. How soon after the "fixed" notice have you all had to wait for confirmation and gun receipt?

Ortega - same thing here. My XD-s showed "fixed" for a day, more like two IIRC, before I received the "shipping" email with the tracking information. I suspect once it's fixed, it takes another day or so to get it ready to send out.

Hopefully you'll be happy with it. Mine came back as clean as it went in, and the extra extended magazine was nice to receive for the trouble. You'll also get the paperwork indicating it's been fixed, with part numbers and what not. I couldn't detect if they actually did a "test fire" after the fix... not sure they did, but don't know that they didn't.

Got mine last night had to drive out to the FedEx since they tried to deliver during the day. You know I know a whole lot of people got really angry at Springfield. My opinion is they tried to fix a potentially really bad situation. I am also sure there are some who will read this and tell me exactly how they would have done it. For me, its fixed its back, a little longer than I wanted it to take, new magazine and a cool box. I also was able to purchase another EDC, because my wife understood that I needed it while waiting.:rockwoot:

Took my "ugraded" xds9 to the range today. Put it through its paces, and fired 200 rounds down range. No issues, continued accuracy as before. Trigger pull was negligable. When dry firing, it seemed just a hair heavier, but during live fire, I couldn't tell the difference. Happy to have it back on my person.

Yesterday my gun was shown as "fixed" and this morning it showed that it shipped out. This evening I got the email confirmation with the FedEx tracking number. It is supposed to be delivered Friday.

Noticed my status changed to "repaired" yesterday, and this evening I got an invoice with tracking info.

    Great news, right?

    NOPE.

I am currently out of town working, and won't be returning home until Thanksgiving weekend.

On Dec. 2 I start a new project in Cleveland, which runs until the weekend before Christmas.

I won't be home to receive the attempted deliveries next week, and I won't be home to go to any local FedEx office either. What happens after they can't deliver after 3 attempts, AND the 2-day hold is expired? Does it get shipped back to Springfield? If so I won't be able to receive my weapon until the week between Christmas and New Years at the earliest, if not after we hit 2014.

    This is beyond infuriating.

Any family or friends you could have at your house and pay fedex $5 to deliver 5-7pm?

We had one gun in inventory that was subject to the recall; sent it in early September, received it back earlier this week. Even though it's taken some time, I applaud Springfield Armory's handling of the situation and their communication with customers and dealers during the process.

Now Springfield wants us to supply them with contact information for every customer who purchased a recalled XDS from us, so they can be sure everyone knows about the recall and sends their gun in. That's a LOT of pistols, and consequently a LOT of work.

I was gone yesterday when Fed Ex arrived (missed them by 1/2 hour). I picked it up this afternoon at the hub. I sent if off 9/6 and would have received it back on 11/22 so that is a total of 11 1/2 weeks. I had plenty of fire power in the meantime so that wasn't so bad for a free extended mag.
