Just don't make it a substitute. Use it to quit. Have a set path to stopping and follow it. It's like starting methadone for heroin and continuing methadone for 10 years...

They are quickly becoming the new cigars from what I've seen. Different flavors, high end $300+ vaporizers, etc.

    E-Liquid Flavoring

Buy your liquid tobacco crap here. Not sure of the nicotine component. I bought some natural flavor stuff.'

    Edit: https://liquidnicotinewholesalers.com/product/4-gal-100mg-liquid-nicotine-usp/

    $950 for 4 gallons

Is it true that ER docs love to smoke as much as lawyers love cocaine or is that a myth?

They won't... Until you need your insurance and then they deny your coverage because you're enrolled inaccurately as a non-smoker.

That is what I was thinking. Even with that, as long as you are not smoking in front of them how would they know??? I bet they have a test but never see one given.

My wife was in the hospital a couple years ago. They were giving her O2... They asked if she was a smoker, she said she gave it up about a year earlier. They said the O2 level was a little low. Sign of a smoker. Or someone who recently quit.

I've had to go into an insurance office for a mouth swab before for insurance to test for tobacco use.

41 Days ago I picked up an e-cig. Haven't had an analog cigarette since. Pack a day smoker, started off with 18mg nicotine, am now down to 6mg. My goal is to be at 0mg by new years. My previous experiences were Chantix (horrible), patches, and gum. I've tried cold turkey and it didn't work, so I suppose I'm weak in the eyes of some. So be it.
I agree with Hoosierdoc, approach it with a goal in mind.

The only real way to quit smoking is to not smoke.

Anything else is "withdraw management". As Robby said, some methods of smoking cessation may actually provide more nicotine than actually smoking which can leave you smoking more than when you started.

Quiting smoking sucks, but not being a smoker is pretty awesome. Your senses of taste and smell will wake back up, you'll breath easier, and you'll have more energy because of it.

    ^^^THIS^^^

I always said that I would "quit tomorrow" then tomorrow came. I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. The doctors say I have less than a year with treatment. I have lost 30 lbs in the past month because swallowing food disgusts me, and a half and my voice is shot. Good thing I got Jesus, huh? :yesway: :)

Folks.......QUIT----just QUIT!!! Too many people count on you to be around.

    Be blessed--Be a blessing!

Don't think you are weak at all... Do what you can it is a bad habit and hard to break. Do what you can. I just have a problem with the e cig sellers pushing that they are healthy. Can it be a better alternative??? yes but don't think it is healthy.

    Good luck...

No worries, I wasn't taking offense at anyone's comment.

At one point, cigs were considered a healthy alternative to food. Only time will tell about vaping.

I smoked for nearly 20 yrs, then on our 10th wedding anniversary my wife and I both quit... Cold Turkey! It's been almost 8 months... It hasn't been easy, but it's been well worth it!

I stopped smoking three years ago this week by using e-cigs. I started at a high nicotine content and worked down to 3 mg fairly quickly. I have considered quitting vaping but given my family history I like the health benefits of low dosage nicotine use.

Of all the cessation methods available today vaping has the highest success rate, higher than all other methods combined.

I started vaping for 9 months slowing working my way down on the nicotine content. Unfortunately a few very stressful things happened in my life and I picked up the nasty cigarettes again. I'm now back to vaping and started at 18mg nicotine and will work down again and hopefully make it this time.

I'm using the Reomod & atomizer which definitely replaces the urge for a cigarette.
