Ive been on this site for years, and done literally thousands of deals on it. To date I have had 1 bad transaction, and it was just a guy who had me pull a rifle off the market until he got paid and could buy it, and never called after I tried to contact him numerous times. So even my bad transaction could have been worse.

Generally, my experience has been very good, but lately I have had a rash of this type of behavior ("I'll take it, let me get the money together" and then poof, gone). As in 3 or 4 within a few weeks. It's gotten quite irritating. I get it that things happen in life, but if you really aren't sure you want something, please don't contact the seller get them to hold on their gun with a promise of a sale while you scour the internet for a better deal (or whatever the hell people are doing when they do the INGO fade-away).

I've been pretty tempted to ding the people doing this, giving them negative feedback, but so far I've held off on the chance they are being honest about their change in circumstance. Maybe INGOers are just really unlucky this time of year.

Now, once the deals I done have gotten to the actually face-to-face part, they been all pretty great. Meeting a ton of great people and shooting the breeze with them. I've only had one person walk away from a deal that we had already negotiated, which was a bit strange (it was supposedly about condition, but there were multiple pictures of the rifle in the ad, so I don't know what exactly was confusing about that), but I had several other offers on that gun and sold it immediately.

My bad transactions are when you agree to a sale and the other never contacts again even when you see them online and pm them. Tics me off. Happened twice last year. Just thoughtless. Other than that, I have gotten some nice firearms and deals from other members.

Since joining Ingo I have made many many deals. I have met many many great people.
1 bad transaction with an idiot kid that is the only person on my ignore list and 1 I walked away from as the gun was not as specified. Out of the numerous transactions those were minimal.
I now deal only through the classy's as I can feel comfortable in not having back up with me.

I did have one old guy try to convince me that he was only selling me 200 rounds of ammo instead of the 400 that was really there, but I set him straight. ;)

You should give them a time limit. Don't let them string you along. Dinging them is optional, but that is what the rating system is for.

Fortunately, my experiences have all been good when trading via INGO.

I've bought and sold on INGO as well. All good experiences. Some people were all about business, here is your item, here is your money, thanks bye. Other people I stood and talked to for a while. Either way, easy, friendly transactions.

...except for the CM guy, he's a bully...

It is a little bit safer but I'd still check DL and LTCH to CYA. I've had nothing but great transactions on here too.

I just check to make sure they have the corrct amount of money to c ya later!

but really everyone I have ever delt with on here was very nice and did not make me feel uncomfortable.

I definitely give a time limit, usually a week or so. Just when you have two fade-aways in a row on the same item, you end up having it pushed out 2 or 3 weeks, which just drags things on. Maybe I should just stop accepting any delays whatsoever, just leaving the item up for sale until they have cash in hand. Might reduce my aggravation. :)

I have had a few of these. Mainly through referrals and not the classy's. I am done holding anything for someone I do not know.

I have not had anyone ask me to hold an item for them. For me the only way I would hold something is if I have dealt with you before, otherwise no.
I have had people become "ghosts" with PM's, never had a deal set in stone. But have had a few times exchanging PM's about an item, feeling a deal was about to happen, then poof...........never hear from them again.
I don't get it, just man up send a message saying you changed your mind, or make up a story about how your car suddenly broke, or the washer went out, or whatever "bad luck" you can come up with.
Much better than to just stop communicating.

After reading many posts I will be interested what my first interaction will be like. It sounds as if I couldn't really go wrong with the users on this forum. Once I hit enough posts I'll test out everyone's theory :ingo:.
