I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.
No problem with that from me, different industry and background will have different responses to situations. Diversity is a good thing even if you can't agree to agree.
I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.
Get your facts straight.
Get your facts straight.
1. He did go the to front door.
Footage from the officer's body cam shows the patrolman attempt to ring the doorbell, but it didn't work. Clothing strewn on the floor and staircase inside are visible through the glass front door.
2. There was no alarm blaring when the officer arrived.
An investigation by KCSO Major Crimes detectives determined the homeowner had accidentally set off the alarm when he came home with his sister and her infant child. The residents turned off the alarm, but forgot to reset the panic alarm, Spangler said.
A subsequent call from the alarm company went unanswered.

Don't have time to read 3 pages -
is this another case of "Everyone got it wrong" - proving again that multiple wrongs do not make anything right?
oh and also "now what can we learn"/ "what can we brag about how we're going to do it wrong cause we don't care cause of our rights" etc? ... ranting ...
Ok I'm out ...
Cops should get training from pizza men? Got it.If a doorbell didn't work when I was delivering pizza in highschool we knocked.
Why was guy strutting around his house with a gun drawn and ready if he knew he set off the alarm?
Cops should get training from pizza men? Got it.
Fools rush in.
Thousands of doors knocked on, no dogs killed, never got shot, always had a fat stack of cash. Knocking worked 100% of the time the doorbell didn't
What the hell happened in here?
Methinks it's about time to wave the caution [STRIKE]flag[/STRIKE] Grenade on this thread...
I think it's one of those cases where, "the gun-owner is on his own property, so he should be able to go full mall ninja and not have to worry about any danger."
Couple that with a scenario in one person's head that doesn't match what actually happened...
If it is acceptable to second guess the LEO tactics here (which I see nothing wrong with)how about the home owner. If your set off the alarm make a call or just answer a call. How about be smart enough to know if you do not call or answer the call the police are coming. If you work for a Sheriffs Department you should not need this explained to you. How about we don't bash a cop for trying to come around the house and catch someone breaking into a house with the alarm going off. How about it you point a gun at someone who is not a threat to you expect to get shot at. That is what you deserve. If you have an alarm system manage it properly.
If you think there is a threat in the back yard. Look through the window before opening the door and pointing a gun a someone. Talk through the door as has been previously mentioned. It seems some situational awareness is lacking here if the home owner did not notice the cop car out front.
Pizza delivery and this situation have about zero things in common. Contributing to a discussion on a forum should involve the use of some logic and reason.
And there was nothing but homeowner critique going on, to the point of wishing he had been killed. Try to have a discussion of alternative tactics for policing and everyone gets so sensitive they feel the need to attack anyone for wanting to have a discussion.
This thread has done wonders to update my ignore list for 2019.
