... Mainly because they base these beliefs on legal fiction.

What is "legal" beyond a work of fiction waved about by those who make a buck off of it? Certainly it can be a workable convention, but only if those who act as lords and masters over it follow their own rules. When those people simply gin up convenient rationalization for what the king and his court want, is law any more than a word used by the powerful to manipulate those without power?

You can become involved (vote, walk the neighborhoods, hand out flyers, march around city hall, etc.)

Kirk, there is one significant problem with this: Three of the four are extremely difficult for those who work for a living. There is a good reason why the left finds it far easier to put on huge rallies than does the right--specifically, the problem of having to be at work during the prime opportunities for such activities.

10th Cir. takes the opportunity to use a sovereign citizen appeal to clarify when and how defendants can waive a lawyer and represent themselves.

If you've ever said to yourself: "I've figured out how the law works and nobody else knows about this."

    No.....No you haven't.

If you've ever said to yourself: "I've figured out how the law works and nobody else knows about this."

    No.....No you haven't.

Back in the mid to late 90s, I had the misfortune of knowing a guy who (among other irritating things) was really pushing the "sovereign citizen" nonsense really hard. One of the last times I spoke to him, he was going on and on about it.

    I said nothing.

During the blessed relief of a pause in his rant, he said, "Why aren't you saying anything?"

I replied, "Because I don't have anything to say."

That enraged him and I just walked away, effectively ending my interaction with him permanently. The best part of it all is that after all of that nonsense, I learned that he became a huge and very vocal Obama supporter and is currently living on the dole, after having been the owner of a successful small business.

I LOVE it when those guys are on LivePD. Almost always the highlight of the show.

Though I do feel bad for the poor cops who have to interact with them.

So is this likely what is going on with the truck I saw on interstate 70 that had a "privately owned" placard where his license plate should be?

Doc they might hail from a state that does not require that farm trucks to have plates you will see not for hire or something along those lines, or could be a sovereign person?
I occasionally bump into a dude at work that’s a Flat Earthier and Sovereign Guy he is 100% all in. I do my best to ignore him but he will capture me and start talking. It’s sad because is he is a smart guy he can recite dates and stats like a professor.
I am confident he will be arrested one day.

I bet if you dumped a partial box of toothpicks on the table he could tell you how many there are within a couple seconds also. Mmm, Yeah, 246 toothpicks.

Most likely. The interpret the word "driving" as an act of commerce, i.e. being hired to chauffeur or deliver goods. "Traveling" is an activity that is "in the pursuit of happiness" ergo the government may make no laws that impede it.

The problem is they may think they're right, but no one else does, including the courts.

Then there's the whole "person" and maritime law BS. From what I can gather, they think the American flag is only for maritime law, and "persons" are some sort of entity... how they've come to rationalize this BS is beyond me.

    Near the big river.
Youtube has a bunch videos of these people. Most end with a broken window, being dragged from the vehicle, and really good ones get tazed.

Gives me a headache to listen to them but the entertainment value is there.

"Smart" goes beyond regurgitating data. It includes being able to assess information and reach logical conclusions.

    I've seen a few.
One ended with the police officer saying "By the way the earth is round" before giving the guy a ticket. :):

I guess most of them believe that they can drive a car without a licence and that cops don't have the authority to arrest
    them.

    That cop is great.
