At the risk of agreeing with the infamous Denny, this is 100% correct.
Oh and people who agree with expanded background checks and brace bans and bumpstock bans and nfa laws and more and more 2nd amendment compromises and call themselves Americans and gun owners, they need to start being publicly shamed by the rest of us. The real patriots who will keep this country alive.
If you agree with more restrictions then you are a ****ing retarded traitor and I hope your dick falls off. You are a disgrace to freedom and your country if you support any of this BS. Also a damn disgrace if you never get off your ass to write and call your elected officials.
Im not going to be cordial with Tories.
Tory; an American colonist who supported the British side during the American Revolution.
It doesnt matter who is the head of the snake. The snake is a snake.Be careful,Trump might see this and take it as a threat.

Well, if punishing the R's by not voting for them is out, how exactly do we plan to prevent them from betraying us (again)? Monolithically voting for one party based on a perceived support of specific rights, REGARDLESS of how they actually vote on said rights, is a very quick way to be marginalized. If they can do whatever they want and people still vote for them, they have no incentive to do anything. Just look at how the Democrats run. There are several large groups that pretty much always vote Democrat no matter what and because of that, the Dems pretend to care about their issues and then ignore them after the election (see the African American community as a whole).
If gun owners are going to always vote Republican no matter how much gun control the Republicans pass, guess what... we will be ignore after the election is over and continue to get burned.
At the risk of agreeing with the infamous Denny, this is 100% correct. The only time you can count on Republicans to even pretend to be small government, pro-Constitution, conservatives is when the Democrats are in power.
Short term, having a Democrat win the White House will be bad for the 2nd Amendment. Longer term, letting Donald Trump continue to wipe his @ss with the Constitution for another 5 years will likely prove catastrophic for both the Republican party (though I think the Republicans are already a dead-party-walking at this point) and the American people.
If the R's maintain the Senate and a D takes the White House, it seems that the R's are more apt to stonewall ANY talk of taking guns rights away...even an inch. Currently, we are hearing R's give in to SOME restrictions because Trump seems to like the idea. These same R's would likely hold fast against a D President. What do I know...

Ok. How will a night of losses help our cause if the left takes full control. This is a terrible catch 22 for us all and I see the issues very clearly “But”
How will putting the Billery’s Bernie’s and Beto’s in charge help. They will waste zero time going full AWB on us. And please do not say this is a protest thing because nobody in power cares. It is what they want.
Now what do we do.

I think you're right, Repubs and Dems both ultimately only care about keeping their seats. Like when Obama was in office the Repubs seemed more willing to fight on conservative issues. It may end up being better for 2a to vote a Democrat president into office and a Republican into the house/senate. Forces Republicans to act more Republican if they get to play up the resistance narrative.
Not to take this farther off the rails then it has already gone, but I guess I'm going to do it anyway...
When confronted by anti-gun people I have just started advocating holding a Constitutional Convention.
Let us do away with the ambiguity, the questioning, the SCOTUS that won't/can't make a ruling to silence the Anti-2A crowd.
Do we (as a nation) repeal the right to bear firearms or not? It is probably an oversimplification. If the amendment passes then we follow the law and surrender our firearms under threat of the penalty of law. If the amendment does not pass then the question is answered and the Anti-2A folks can suck it up.
If nothing else it sure would be interesting to watch! I'm probably too overconfident that the amendment would never even come close to passing.
I'm of the mind that cracking open the Constitution these days would be a bad thing. I see no gain for 2A supporters in doing so...
