Lefties, what pistols do you like?

The slide release is on the left on P99s. This generally means that a leftie uses their offhand, placing it over the top of the slide and either pulling back on the slide to release it, or their thumb or fingers to press down and release it.

Lefties, what pistols do you like?

I use a Walther P99. Walther's pistols, since the P5, have been ambidextrous. The P5 in particular ejects its brass to the left, which is an interesting quirk that some lefties find useful. H&K's line from the P2000 on are also southpaw-friendly.

I think it's currently set to 0 actually.

      Hey there from BSU

How about that! I'm a BSU grad, Muncie resident and Indianapolis-area graduate student too! Welcome!

If you had $1200 to Spend on a Gun

A Walther P88. Gunbroker has had them on auction for 1200 before. Back when they were still producing them, that was actually their MSRP too. Failing that, a nice rifle.

Sorry, meant failure to feed. The bolt carrier will extract the spent cartridge, but doesn't seem to have enough force to chamber the next round and then go into battery. Could it possibly be a spring issue?

      Glock .... Still the best

I did, actually. But that's because I used to browse random Wikipedia articles at work for considerable lengths of time.

      Glock .... Still the best

Actually, CZ claims to have the most handguns in use around the world, period. Specifically, the CZ 75. In the US, Glock has the marketshare it has with LEOs because of the support services they offer with their handguns, and because they often offered to let departments trade in older guns...

What Is Your Deep Concealment Handgun?

A Walther PPS in 9mm, in either a pocket holster or a SmartCarry. (Preferably the pocket holster.)

      .308 WIN Century Arms R1A1

As far as I know, it is a Century Arms receiver, yes. And paddling_man, I appreciate the offer but I actually have a Century Arms manual for it that I found on the internet. Would the proper FN FAL manual say anything different or say something more clearly?

      .308 WIN Century Arms R1A1

So I bought an R1A1 from a coworker last fall. He had never fired it before, and had bought it from an old friend. Anyway, I took it to the range at Wilbur Wright FWA for the first time late last year or early this year, and I found that after every shot, the magazine would get jarred loose...

Press Conference ~ Self Defense Shooting

Indiana does have a Castle Doctrine law, and I imagine you can find it on the Indiana State Police website.

      Glock: Is there an alternative?

You might consider the Sig P250, and get ahold of the subcompact frame for it. Other possibilities include the aforementioned Walther PPS, or getting a compact pistol rather than a subcompact (i.e. the S&W M&Pc or a Walther P99c).

Next they will be surfing the web on their pistols

They're also looking at technology so that only the officer, his partner and his supervisor can fire the weapon. Not that both aren't incredibly dumb ideas.

Your favorite artists (singers/bands/actors) that you love, but HATE their politics?

Also, I like Green Day's music, and hate their raging anarcho-communist politics. I love Billy Corgan, and one thing I liked was that he never said anything political...until the Obamanation won. And then he said he thought America "did the right thing." Sigh.
