      "H&R" Ultra-Rifle Update!

I got my H&R Ultra-Rifle back today, via U.P.S. (H&R/Remington paid round trip shipping), it was returned in 8 days (not 2 to 4 weeks),... unbelievable!!!! Kudos to Remington!!! :rockwoot: Out of the box, everything that I had issues with had been repaired...

      H&R Ultra-Rifle 45-70

Approximately 1 week ago I posted that I had sent back the "H&R 45-70 Cal.Ultra-Rifle" that I had bought 3 days prior. The reasons that I sent it back in to the manufacture, were due to mostly cosmetic flaws, with the one exception of one of the nastiest machine jobs on a breech that I had ever...

      Coolest single shot you've owned?

A "Sharps" in a 45-70 caliber, and an original "High Wall" same caliber. The "High Wall" is gone now, but I still shoot my "Sharps"!

      H&R Ultra-Rifle in a 45-70 Cal.

I don't know about the higher pressures! When talking with H&R, I was told that is would handle pretty much anything that was out there. But when I told them that I reload, they had no comment and wouldn't elaborate,... but that is normal. But the heavier loads are why I own three of the other...

      H&R Ultra-Rifle in a 45-70 Cal.

If I can ever figure out how to get around on this site without deleting photos and such, I will down load a few "before and after photo's" of the rifle,.. All too often, my big fingers get in the way of my work on the key pad,...lol!

      H&R Ultra-Rifle in a 45-70 Cal.

Just bought an H&R Ultra-Rifle in a 45-70 Cal. For those that are not familiar with it,.... It is a standard "H&R" single barrel break down action. With the additions of a 24 inch stainless steel hammer forged barrel and a stainless steel receiver. Accompanied with a laminated thumb hole stock...

      winchester primers

Yesterday (1/11/13), I picked up a box of 1,000 CCI large rifle primers as well as some 209 shotgun primers from "Plainfield Shooting Supply" (in Plainfield IN.). The shelf was on the lean side, but I do remember seeing pistol primers there.

Survey: What "Reasonable Gun Law Reform" would/could you accept?

This may be a really stupid idea, as I have no idea of what there is on the legal books right now about firearms and to speak of something that you know nothing about is wrong! As well as it seems to be my nature to have one or two stupid ideas every 4 years anyhow,..lol! How about we...

How much was your first handgun?

My very first (first ever!!!), hand gun was given to me by my grandfather. It was a 5 shot, Smith & Wesson .32 Cal. rim fire (break up action), revolver along with a box of B.P. cartridges,... so that would make it very much free as well as an antique! O.k., that probably isn't what you were...

      Helle Knives

I carry a "Helle" as a neck knife, it is a great knife and "My go to"!!!,... I can cut wood with mine and then go right to skinning chores and it stays sharp with little effort and makes cutting a joy! I would dare say that there are several Scandinavian companies that produce fantastic...

      Black Powder firearms discussion

"Well,... thank you for your greeting of kindness and makin' me feel at home"! I'm a gray beard and have been just that for what seems like forever. I've have more camp fires behind me than I have left in front of me. I've been to rendezvous from Indiana to the "Rockies" and back again...
