I've caught trout on kernals of corn fishing at night with a light on (or was it in) the water. It was 30 years ago and the water was unbelievably clear and DEEP. I hope it hasn't changed. BTW - I don't know if a red light will have the same affect as a white light. Have fun and good luck...
This is good advice anywhere. Every city has its' bad part of town, some larger than others, and the interstate highways generally run through those parts of town.
Marlin Camp 9
I have a 9mm Kel-tec Sub 2K (Glock) and Marlin Camp 9. I like the Camp 9 best because it looks and handles more like a "sporting rifle." The prices on the Camp 9 vary as noted by a quick check of Gunbroker.com, but I bought a nice one in the INGO classifieds for $400.
Marlin...
I have the Sub2K 9mm with Glock mags and a couple of P3ATs. One of the P3ATs had to go back for fluff and buff. The Sub2K has had no issues at all and is fairly faily accurate, but don't put your cheek against the buttstock unless you add some padding.

I bought a nice used 1100 with a smooth bore 22" barrell for $400 and added a +7 extension. It works, but not nearly as tactiCOOL looking.
