I put one together a while back using a Nodak receiver. It's in the show and tell thread: https://www.indianagunowners.com/forums/long-guns/38742-ar-15-m-16-show-tell-post3976413.html#post3976413
...by mosquitoes at the Winamac range on Saturday.
Brought my wife to the range for the first time. She's getting comfortable shooting my Beretta Compact Type M. She was also very accurate with my retro black rifle (M16 kit on Nodak).
A generous amount of Cutter's bug spray and excellent...
My wife and I stopped in the Lafayette store for the first time last weekend. Didn't see any firearms, but the firearm section looked like it was being rearranged, so hopefully soon!
We have a Fleetwood (Coleman) that we bought new about 6 years ago. It's the Utah CP model. CP stands for cassette pottie. We wouldn't have a popup without one. We use the campsite facilities during the day and the CP at night.
We also have a refrigerator (120V, 12v or propane)...
And don't forget about the waiting period. This also applies to private sales in IL. I bought my first firearm from a neighbor when I lived in a Chicago suburb a few years ago and I had to wait three days. Another example of a gun law that only affects the law-abiding folks.
Thanks! I had considered the M16 selector mod that gives it SAFE-SEMI-SEMI, but decided it wasn't worth the potential hassle. Engravings are one thing, but if the selector actually moved to the AUTO position, it'd be hard to explain.
My one and only AR. I decided to build a retro M16A1 about a year ago. Gunthings kit, Nodak lower engraved to look similar to the real thing.
Keeping my eyes open for a "reasonably" priced LE6920 to keep it company.
My brother knows I built a retro black rifle, so he had a distributor get him one of these for me. He surprised me with it the other day. Any opinions on it? I've only had the opportunity to use the bottle opener so far. :D
He got it while at a trade show, so I had to go online to get the...
Please add me to the "will attend" list. No parts or tools, but would love to watch and learn. I'll be building an AK74 kit in the future as soon as funding allows.
Thanks,
Joe
Three years ago for me. Moved here from the Chicago area and got my LTCH as soon as I could. My C&R was next. Been collecting military rifles since then. Winamac is now higher on my list than Disney. :):
I phoned the order in yesterday morning. Yesterday's snail mail had the standard NRA offer with the 2013 member sticker. My wife says, "Wow, didn't you just call that in?" :D
After reading posts where people have been denied and told a 4473 was required, I wasn't sure what to expect. I know they're supposed to accept it, but store policy seems to vary.
Correct, no form 4473/background check. I got their FFL number for my book, paid and walked out.
Just wanted to pass this along for those in the Lafayette area.
I stopped in Haley's recently to get a key programmed for my daughter's car, and had to wait 15-20 minutes for their programming tool to do its thing.
While waiting, I picked up a nice M44. I was pleasantly surprised when...
Happy Camper!
I took advantage of the $300 "no sponsor needed" lifetime NRA deal yesterday.
Two things off my list (for a while, anyway).
I think the special is through the end of February. 888-678-7894
