      Ammo options

Hi all, I have been inactive for awhile, but am trying to re-engage. I have several firearms: M1 Garand (30.06 150 gr ball), Ruger SR9C-9mm, Mossberg 500 12 guage, and PSA AR15 5.56 Nato. Everywhere I look for ammo it seems like it is out of stock or ridiculously priced. I use to visit some...

      Garand ammo options

Hi patriots. I need ammo for my garand. I am out of the M2 Greek Ball 30.06 sold by the CMP. It is my understanding that their stock is depleted. Is there any of this stuff still around? What are my options? Can I use any 30.06 ammo of 150grain? Do I have to install a gas plug (Schuster)...

Help, 1st AR15 build, PSA lower

The problem with the trigger guard isn't the lower (this time--it was for the pistol grip issue). The problem is the receiving hole on the inside plastic magpul part. It needs to be deeper and wider, as the screw itself is not creating to space itself (it's a small flat set screw). I am going...

Help, 1st AR15 build, PSA lower

Bigtanker, the lower seems threaded, the plastic Magpul part not sure its threaded. Can I just drill it a bit wider and deeper? If I try to put the set screw just in the plastic part it does not screw in--could hole be too narrow or too shallow. it screws into the lower fine.

Help, 1st AR15 build, PSA lower

Fixed! But now another problem/question Great advice on tapping the hole on the Anderson lower for the pistol grip. It worked. Would have never thought of it. Next problem.... The trigger guard. I was able to get the roll pin installed. The other end of the trigger guard is to be secured by...

Help, 1st AR15 build, PSA lower

I am building my first AR15 from a PSA lower kit (PSA 16" Midlength 5.56 NATO 1:7 Phosphate MOE Freedom Rifle Kit - 7779431). The MOE pistol grip fit the lower quite snuggly and had to push hard to get it to sit right while ensuring the safety spring stayed aligned. My concern is with the...

Giving a firearm as a gift for son?

I would like to get my son (16 years old) a rifle or pistol for Christmas. I was looking at the 10/22 takedown or Ruger MkIII or Browning Buckmark--something he can practice with, cheap. How do I do this legally? Can I buy the gun, and simply give it to him? Is he legally able to own a gun...

      Garand Breakdown and Cleaning Question

Thanks for all of the great advice. IndyJohh, did you treat the wood handguards as well? That thin lower wood handguard appears tricky to separate from barrel.

      Wolf Park

I've been there. They have a small gift shop. They have programs where they discuss the wolf's, play with the wolf's, sometimes feed the wolfs. It's very interesting, and you can walk around to see various displays. Everything is fenced off from the general public. I would say 2 hours at...

      Garand Breakdown and Cleaning Question

Just bought my first Garand--a field grade SA that arrived from the CMP. Upon inspection, there does not 'appear' to be any of that Cosmoline on it. Is that normal? Is there cosmoline but I just don't see it? What are the best methods for ridding the rifle of cosmoline and for treating the...

The Liberty Amendments by Mark Levin

Rambone, Your reply is precisely why Levin's work is so important--so many, like you, misunderstand the constitution, or have chosen to selectively interpret it. The Constitution can be amended without any intervention from Congress. Rather, two-thirds of the state legislatures can call for...

      Field or Service Grade

Have a chance to get a field grade SA garand or a service grade H&A garand. I want the springfield name, and it may have seen battle and/or WWII era. But is it worth the lower grade? Any experience with field grade and what to expect? What would you do if you were me?

Taking out a 401k loan to pay down debt

As part of my preps, I need to get out of financial debt. So, a "friend" has some significant credit card debt. This friend can pay off this credit card debt by taking out a loan against his 401 plan. What this means is that the friend will have to pay back into his 401 to pay off the 401...
