A Lefty Mob Trespassed on Their Property

Pretty sure it's one of these: Note the long extractor groove mentioned by 2A_Tom, and the short section of vertical cocking serrations. It also has a red "cocking indicator" visible during the event that I originally thought was a hammer spur. The incident reinforces the idea that any gun is...

A Lefty Mob Trespassed on Their Property

Look closely at the woman's pistol. The trigger appears to be all the way back, with the hammer all the way forward. I suspect the chamber was empty for the entire incident.

      Hardchroming

Robar in Phoenix, AZ has several finishes that are superior to hard chroming in almost every way - surface hardness, lubricity, thickness control, even (limited) color choice for some. Robar also provides a lifetime warranty on their coatings. One of my instructors at a rifle class was using a...

      Tumbler questions

I've been running the FA combo pack with the rotary brass separator since '95 or so. Never a hiccup. Note that brass cleans better if it's separated by caliber beforehand. 380's nest nicely (and sometimes very tightly) into 9mm, and 9mm does the same into .40SW, depending on the size/age of...

      fighting rifle class??

Fortress Defense and/or John Farnam's classes will take you out of your comfort zone. Repeatedly. You will be presented with multiple problems and conflicting goals (kinda like life), and you will have to find a way to solve them. Volunteer to go first - there's nothing like learning to think...

      Any Grasshopper Mower Owners?

My dad is on his second Grasshopper and loves it. The suspension travel on it was equal the flex in the tire sidewalls and the foam in the seat, so the ride got a little rough if you tried to go full speed over anything but very smooth ground. To it's credit, the mower still cut beautifully...

Where did you "see" OC today?

Lafayette Lowes. It was painful. An uncomfortable-looking guy was OC'ing a 1911 in a cheap pancake holster, held up by a wimpy dress belt. The poor 1911 looked mortified.

      Worst gun you ever bought!

Remington R51. Easier to reassemble wrong than right, followed by malfunctions galore. Pederson action is mechanically interesting, but it looks like there are reasons it went away the first time.

      School me on slings.

I've been very happy with the Vickers/Blue Force Gear sling that John Farnam recommended. It's very comfortable and still allows a quick shoulder-to shoulder transition. As was previously mentioned, an Appleseed weekend Took my accuracy to a much higher level, through proper use of a strip of...

      Aimpoint it is....

Justin 727, This is not a criticism of your or anyone else's choice - you asked for our reasons, and the following are mine. Your mileage may vary. I have a 4 moa H-1 on a Larue mount, purchased as a package from Larue as mentioned by tradertator. I chose it over the T-1 because I have no...

      America's most desperate Senator

Shameful, but not surprising: America's Most Desperate Senator | ZUG I wonder if the Mourdock campaign has seen this, or maybe the major newspapers? Could be embarrassing for someone. Hmmm...

Which pistol do you hate the most.

Taurus 96; a buddy had one that was just stovepipe after stovepipe, regardless of ammo. He finally sold it. S&W Sigma; someone (who might be on this board ) tried to compete with one ‘back in the day,’ when it was the only plastic alternative to the Glock. He paid mightily in...

Thank you for the rep! I used to work with an engineer who wrote that as the assembly instructions for everything he designed!

      .22 mag or .380?

In a word, no. As was mentioned before, "stopping power" is a horribly misleading term, that is generally poorly defined and impossible to measure. Whatever it is and wherever it comes from, more of it is likely to be found in relatively larger cartridges firing relatively larger, faster...

      G17 vs. SR9...thoughts?

The SR 9 has a "magazine safety", so it will not fire with the magazine removed. I do not favor this feature, but I assume someone (besides Ruger's legal department) must like it. The Glock will fire either way. Good luck, and welcome to INGO!

Carrying Handgun License / Drivers License on your Person?

Somebody already did: http://www.nrastore.com/nrastore/ProductDetail.aspx?c=2817&p=SA+333&ct= I'm going to stick with my Crossbreed and wallet, though. :) And my house keys, car keys, flashlight, G27, spare mag, knife, multitool, phone. . .

      FNX-9, Beretta 92A1, Ruger SR9

I'm not a 92-Series fan, as I can't reach the slide-mounted safety without breaking my grip. It was very accurate and easy to shoot, though. Full disclosure - I am biased against manual safeties in general. Many others love it - your mileage may vary. I haven't shot the other two, so I can't...

      Target Frames

I took a class this summer where they used some wire stakes similar to these: Law Enforcement Targets, Inc.: TARGET STAND FOR MOUNTING 1" x 2" STICKS A little expensive, but you do get six pairs and if you have some welding skills, they would be easy to make.
