Hi everyone, thanks for the responses! I've been out of the loop from the weekend, but I really appreciate all the help.
@Yamadog35 thanks for the link! I missed it while scrolling through the subforum
@DRob No kidding, right? I usually go on weekdays when it's very mild, but I had some...
I remember reading about a year ago or so that Point Blank (Greenwood) doesn't allow full auto any more. I called as well as asked in store, and all I got was a bunch of nonsense about people shooting walls, floors, wrong lanes, small animals two counties over, etc.
So, where in Indianapolis...
Hello INGO!
I am looking for a factory Colt M16, preferably on a F4 in Indiana. Rollmarks are a secondary concern to condition, and I would be equally happy with a nice 614 or M16A1. That said, my budget is toward the Model 614 range rather than M16A2 SSA range. I am seeking a MG that left...
I used some M-80 pull downs I bought cheap and I think it was around 17 grains H110. Cycled fine as I recall. I read a bunch of threads on it online to establish a rough range, cross referenced as noted above, and single loaded to take time and inspect chrono and fired brass. I don’t remember...
Thumbs up for putting them through the paces. Offhand I remember failures with breaks on the thin parts of latches, pins walking out, and the plastic twisting of pressure was accidentally applied while open or loading.
Slightly related, but IIRC, Pelican used to highlight their warranty stood...
Very, very sad :(
It’s an absolute tragedy. I shutter when I think of all the poor clearing barrels that caught rounds from unloaded weapons- I can’t imagine the feeling for if it was a person any of those times.
Well, technically, it’s an SBS for a shotgun and SBR for a rifle.
Not sure how much cheaper they are; you save what, about $100 on brace versus stock for an AR-15, maybe less than that on a non-AR? Given the cost of most decent builds, that’s not very much savings that could easily be offset...
Oh, to clarify, by Pelican spec I mean used under the same NSN to backfill damaged Pelican cases. They did something right to get the same NSN, but it was not the same quality product.
Seems like a good deal, but my past experience is there is a reason that a Pelican costs what it does. Having handled both in the Army (pelican and pelican spec) the pelican spec cases “looked” very similar but had MUCH thinner plastic and less sturdy hinges.
Hopefully these cases are better...
Sure was cold this morning. Felt pretty brutal in the work uniform with a Carhartt coat while out looking for air leaks. Wish I could wear bibs when it’s this cold.
17HM2 was always a caliber I wished I had gotten into. I sometimes very casually wonder if I made an error when I passed on a Spike’s Tactical 22LR SBR upper custom built for their owner in 17HM2. I still remember cases of ammo on closeout for $220/5k, but that was twice the cost of Federal 22LR...
Agreed. Supersonic ammunition does not impress people unfamiliar with suppressors.
Back to subsonic 5.56mm, anyone can load up a case with (something like Trail Boss) but now you’re introducing variables such as bullet expansion at relatively slow speeds, not cycling in semi-auto, and...
Understood, but counterpoint: it looks more like a Pistol than the run of the mill AR with a bare receiver extension.
Would be fitting for a 21st century pirate, in case your AK with the stock removed fell overboard
Why not sell them? They donÂ’t stock a lot of stuff in stores that they sell online, so someone else can handle it and they all make some money. Office Depot gets the sale, seller gets their margins, and the buyer converts gift cards or credits to something they want.
