Same. Also reloading manuals need to use real world barrels for testing. 24" barrels for every rifle or 8.5" barrels for calibers like 38 special really?

I just checked. Milan is 67 miles away from you. Down by Batesville. Still a long drive for a few boxes of ammo.
I'm interested in that same pistol. Been drooling over a Ruger SR1911 10mm at the local gun shop for 2 months now. Waiting for your range report.

That's why I liked the videos where they fired 5 rounds from 4-5" barrels, so it was real world.

Just put in "Milan, IN" again, and instead of 4 hrs. away NE from me I got a place toward Cincinnati 1:15 from me.
Never did see the Milan near Batesville.
Must be alot of them around.

I did a range report a few pages back on this thread, 20, 30 & 40 feet shooting free hand and on a rest.

About 15 mIles south east of Batesville on State Road 101.

Just checked out the Armscor post. I'd suggest for accuracy get something loaded with Hornady XTP hollow points. Most accurate pistol bullets I've shot. Underwood, makes some, Great Lakes makes 155gr xtp. Of course Hornady. Watch Brownell for the free shipping on any amount deal grab a box or 2.

Made it back to the range: Point Blank in Greenwood.
Not my usual range, but I have some passes and I wanted to use their 25 yards/75 feet distance since my regular range only goes to 50' for some .22LR fun.

I bought some Sig Sauer 10mm ammo: 180 grain and 1250 FPS, to try to get my man-card back.
It was fine, but I was expecting more "kick" after all the comments about ammo. :dunno:

30' (mislabled 20' by mistake). The head shots were OK on a rest, but the torso shots really reveal my lack of shooting lately and perhaps this manly caliber with more kick. :ar15:

Same target, but I added 3 different 20' rounds using only a rest: they are marked as such.

That is what I said earlier. Some people seem to notice the recoil more than others. I don't notice it much while shooting, but I do sometimes notice the soreness in the web of my hand later in the evening.

If I would have fired more than a very few mags, but boxes, perhaps it would have started to wear, like you said.
About the only guns that have really been hard for me to hold onto was the Taurus Judge with the 410 & 45 rounds with only a 2 finger grip, and the SW snubbie Airlight .38 special with a 2 finger grip as well.
I got bigger grips immediately! :dunno:
When I gun is built with the weight and grips and other technical things I don't understand: it just works.

Still not full house. Buffalo bore or underwood.
Sig is top end range ammo. Man card ammo is from the suppliers listed and get the hot stuff.

    Nobody listens anymore.

Sounds like me: it seems I bought the Toyota Corolla grade of ammo instead of the Lexus brand. :dunno:
Following the analogy, the Armscor was the Ford Escort (yes, back in '83 I owned one).

I was looking for some range/target 10 mm ammo to test out a Ruger SR1911 10 mm that I traded for (just for fun since I'd never had that caliber).
I called my most often used range, and they were out.
    Wal Mart didn't carry it.
Dick's Sporting Goods didn't carry it.

I called Point Blank in Greenwood where I go sometimes and they had some Mag Tech brand for $20/box of 50.
I was told to stay away from Mag Tech b/c it was very dirty.
Is it really any dirtier than other less expensive brands in 10mm?

I would be glad to trade some 9mm or even 22LR to get a box or two of 10mm to do a function check on my "new" 10mm if someone lives fairly close to Wanamaker.
Like .32 or .40 caliber, I don't want to buy it in bulk to get a better price b/c I don't intend to shoot 1000 rounds of it quickly, unlike 9mm or 22LR.

So you also wouldn't drive your car on a muddy road bcuz "it was very dirty" ?
    I shoot a 10 mm 1911 and it feeds 40S&W very nicely, so I save $$$$ on factory 10's.
Oh, Wait. I don't EVER shoot factory loads. My press loads all the 10mm I ever need.
I bought the 10 to shoot bowling pins. My 460 Rowland kicks a bit much for me when shooting those 255 grain boolits so I shoot its little brother - the 10.

Now I am one that tends to obnoxiously stout loads but, just for a basis, let's remember what the original 10 mm loads looked like.

The 180 gr Sigs at 1250 are solid representation of the original intent of the round.

But everyone with a 10mm owes it to themselves to buy a couple of boxes of some hot stuff and shoot it...

I know if I have a choice of going down a dirt road or a nice paved one, I will take the paved one. Someone criticizing that choice hasn't been driving long or he doesn't give a crap about his vehicle.
