1911 accuracy woes

I test fired it Sunday with my 200gr semi wad cutter loads that are accurate in everything I have shot them in so far. I also took my personal 1911 to make certain it wasn't me.
Nothing has changed on the Colt except that it was hitting low but the groups were still 6" while 3 of the 5 out of mine were touching and I slightly pulled 2 rounds but still under 3" in my gun.

KART Match gunsmith fit barrel and bushing coming and EGW ignition kit. It is not coming home until it is dead on. My opinion is, it's a shame Colt puts the label Competition on the slide.

You will be pleased when all is said and done.

Here is a snap shot of what has been done,
I wager this will be a tack driver now.
Barrel is fit up snug and trigger pull is a crisp 2 3/4 lbs.

Pistol has absorbed these parts

Fitting bushing OD



Everything is cut and fit.

Almost done, going to take it to the range again.

I couldn't get s group I wanted post photo of, lame excuse is I had a fall down the stairs at home night before and neck and back were a bit stiff

Gun shoot absolutely awesome it hit everywhere I was shaking at and much nicer grouping then before. I could call my shots and I could have pulled the target in closer then 25 yards but that is my mental block to test at.

I brought it back and made a windage adjustment also widened the notch in the rear sight to give a little more light around the front sight. The HD sight was to wide for the rear notch.

Interestingly the POI was 4" higher then the colt barrel and now pretty much dead on with the sights elevation wise. This is the first gun that I replaced a barrel on that made that much of a POI shift.

Just need to shoot it one last time to confirm zero and it will be done.

They sell 45 laser bore sight and bullets.
But the bore sighter in and see if you have barrel slop.
Line it up on a target and slap it to see movement.
Then use the laser bullet to check your stability and sight alinement.

I picked up the pistol from AllenM tonight. Certainly should be a shooter now. I’ll try to get out in the near future to put some rounds through it.

Same ammo, at 15 yards like before, 24 rounds. The pistol shoots REMARKABLY better. I called all 4 I pulled. I know it’s the equipment and not the shooter.

I fit 20 where I’d struggle to get 3 before. I have supplies to make another 1900 rounds, so I have some work ahead of me.

Still working on shooting with 2 eyes open.
