Here is the best I can do to shine some light. I would hope off a sand bag now it would be a one hole gun, but the pic above looks pretty good. However shooting this unsupported it would not group.
Target on the left is my personal 1911 5 shots 25 yards unsupported.

Target on the right is the Colt before I worked on it. I was pretty steady that day. Same ammo and same effort 10 rounds.
(bottom target was some warm up shots from mine)

This is his gun after center target is at 15 yards 40 rounds not rapid fire but not slow fire either.
The targets on the outside were at 25 but I just couldn't get steady. Even so they are half size the original

It is much more accurate now then before with a lot less effort.

CMann, Am I missing something here? Curious!

Yea Allen is a better shot than me lol

To reiterate what Allen said, that group you quoted a picture of is off a rest. The factory barrel didn’t group well unsupported for either Allen or I. The group I most recently posted a picture of was unsupported after Allen worked on it. It’s effortless to shoot now. I’m very happy!

I’m sure I’m leaving some accuracy on the table yet. I need to develop a load for it. I’m just using a 230gr round nose and 5.0gr of TiteGroup now.

    Another update.

I shot FNS last week with this pistol and noticed some improvement. I felt like I was getting more first round hits and the amount of left over rounds at the end of the night confirmed this.

Oh my gosh...this is just beautiful work. Someone else mentioned wanting to become a machinist after reading/looking at this, and who doesn't? This is just gorgeous.

I am anxious to take this for a quick spin today.
Here is a snap shot of what has been done,
I wager this will be a tack driver now.
Barrel is fit up snug and trigger pull is a crisp 2 3/4 lbs.

    Pistol has absorbed these parts

    Gunsmith fit KART NM Barrel

Aligning hoo with center of slide for measuring

    Cutting hood

    Measuring lower barrel lugs

Opening up EGW thick Flange bushing

    Fitting bushing OD

    Everything is cut and fit.
