doddg , these days I shoot more 22 pistol at the range than anything else. Mine lineup is usually Ruger MKII vs 22/45 vs Ruger Single Six and sometimes the Smith 41 gets thrown into the mix.

Did another round of 30' this evening following up last night which is listed above with different guns except for the Rock Island Armory XT-22.
Again 5 targets for each gun, with a red inner circle, grey 2nd bigger circle, black 3rd bigger circle, and white background off target.

    Red circle:
    1. S/W 22A-1: 28
    2. S/W Victory: 26
    3. Browing Buckmark: 23
    4. RIA XT-22: 22
    5. Ruger Mark 4: 20

    Red and Grey totaled:
    1. Browning Buckmark: 51
    2. S/W 22A-1 (Wood grip): 45
    3. 39 (tied): S/W Victory, Ruger Mark 4, RIA XT-22

Integrating both evenings of all my semi-autos of combined Red Circles:

    1. S/W 22A-1 (Wood grips): 28
    2. S/W Victory: 26
    3. Browning Buckmark & Colt Target: 23
    4. R.I.A. XT-22: 2
    5. Ruger Mark 4 Luger: 21
    6. R.I.A. XT-22 (previous evening) : 20
    7. Beretta Neos: 15
    8. GSG 1922 (with upgrades): 14
    9. Sig Sauer P250 (D/A only): 12

    Red and Grey Circles combined:

    1. Browning Buckmark: 51

    1. Now, that is an interesting mix, with a S/W 41.
    2. I must ask: does it beat your other 22LR semi-autos consistently, or some of the time, or is it just about the same as the others, or perhaps edges them out barely?

The 41 fired bullseye style (one handed) is the best out of the box pistol of all the 22 pistols I have owned . The stock trigger pull is is much better than any stock Ruger MKII or Single Six. Firing one handed with a marginal trigger equals frustration and bad scores. My 1994 MKII was sent to Clark Custom Guns not long after buying it and the trigger pull on that one is very , very good. Way back in 1995 I used that MKII to win the informal Muncie Pistol League 22 top shooter. It was a 50 ft. course but was one handed shooting and included timed and rapid fire.

When firing two handed the targets between my 22s are not usually dramatically different. I worked on my Single Six trigger and got really crisp light pull and it has fire some good targets for me. I will have to say that all my 22s have a red dot of some sort like a Vortex Venom or Ultradot. One MKII wears a 1X Burris bullseye scope. At 56 I have serious issues seeing open sights.
Here is one target with the 41 not too long ago @ 50 yards one handed.

Before buying the 41 in 2000 I asked my bullseye shooting friend if the 41 was going to be much more accurate than my MKII. His answer was the 41 was a more ergonomic pistol for many competitors for one hand pistol shooting. He is the best pistol target shooter I know and even won the 22 pistol championship at Camp Perry some years ago , 1999 I believe. Although he used a Pardini.

    1. 50 yards = 150 feet!!!!!
    2. Unbelievable!
    3. I truly don't think I could shoot that well with a rifle at 150 feet.
I'm gonna brag a little bit because I was amazed I did it. But I hit a pop can at 50 yards with a 22lr pistol. 22 rifle I wouldn't have been impressed. I like shooting clay pigeons at 170 yards with a 22lr rifle.

    1. I love it when someone posts pics of their targets and shares their good luck or good shooting or both!
    2. I do it too much (my way of having fun) and have been criticized for it, but I get criticized for everything from how I post my ads to my opinion on "lowballers," but such is the online chatter.
    3. I was told to quit taking up space on the forum: :wow:
