I haven't read it, and I don't plan to, nor to see the movie, but from what I understand, it's really pretty lightweight stuff. I've been there, done some, seen the rest, known people; The B&D, S&M, paraphilias, the obsessions, the incest, homosexuality, bestiality, the nymphomaniacs, all of it. Anything you could name, and some you have no words for. None of it comforted me, and very little appealed. I don't want to be those people. I'm hard to offend now, though. Hellz, I went to bed last night and there was a show on teewee about a cat dating a tree, or some such.

I want my childhood back. Things made a lot more sense back then.

saw it friday night ... wife enjoyed the books , & the movie ... I actually fell asleep for a little catnap... nothing to get bound up about , no pun intended, it's just cheap(ish) entertainment... as such, quality is suspect ... probably came closer to getting my money's worth from tickets($21) than snacks ($14.75)... did i miss the obvious worldwide popcorn shortage ?...

This is exactly the concern. Do your homework on the physiology of this, as well as the emotional impact to your partner and your relationship, failure to address these concerns in their entirety can have diasterous consequences not just for your relationship but also for the physical well being of your spouse. It can be a wonderful thing for you and your partner to share, and it can be deadly, ironically, it's similiar in ways to an ignorant and uninformed gun owner.

Yep. You are right. The first time my wife handled one it went off in her hand. ugh gun that is. oops sorry

    ^ this.

i plan on "acquiring" this film just so the lady and i can laugh at it.

my biggest fear is all of the guys who see this movie, decide "im gonna dom now" and start physically and emotionally abusing their SO - this thought terrifies me.

Thats like saying video games make kids want to be violent. Also, the fabulously well done porn films do not make me think that every pizza guy will show up at my house with other motives other than to bring me a fantastic pizza. On a side note, I am leary of cable guys in cut off jean shorts.

This video was more entertaining. NSFW (language.)

Haha that video was hilarious... I guess I never realized how graphic it was. But I did know that they should them with female sex toys. A point I made sure to make to my sister about her reading in front of our parents :): she deserved it...

So by some of the reasoning here, no one should watch the new SpongeBob Movie because it will make them want to live under the sea?

It's only entertainment people, I've seen many popular $400 million grossing films that I thought was utter crap. To each their own.
Don't think so hard about some of this stuff.

^^^ oh come on. They are no different in the bedroom than lower income folks. TRUST me, I see what the less-than-ambitious career path folks due to themselves and their partners.

you will find the same type of person in every "class" of person on earth.

in defense of your position though, Thomas Crown was a thief and womanizer who saw a shrink.

I think the old money people have the ways to be seriously kinky. Not saying that the 'class' has anything to do with it. I have seen some nasty stuff as a patrolman that was done by extremely low income people closer to Neanderthals than anything. Depravity knows no socio/economic role because we are all sinners.

^^^ this. I read the books, I skipped most of the sex scenes and continued with the story. I enjoyed it. The sex scenes I did read did not make me want to go out and get all submissive with my hubby, or any other man.

Read all three. Meh. The thing that pissed me off most about the trilogy was the unrealistic ending. (Not going to give out any spoilers.) The dom/sub stuff was not shocking to me because I have friends who are into that. Not my thing, but whatevs.

I heard two women discussing it yesterday. My first impression is that it was definitely a chick flick. The one lady said she only saw 4 men in the whole theater. My second impression is that they must have really toned it down. The one lady said that they "had cut out all the good parts":naughty: to keep the "R" rating. They were both sorely disappointed.

Yup. Cut it down to 14 minutes of nudity to give it a solid R rating. 31 seconds more and it would've been into a whole new category.

Seems like garbage, according to what I've read. It started out as Twilight fan fiction. It is a story about women's abuse and oppression. I will not be seeing or reading it.
