Bjones.... you da man! I rock a G19, and a S&W442. Critical Defense in 442, Sig Sauer 147gr 9mm in Glock. J frame in pocket holster(cheap Uncle Mikes, actually works best!), and Don Hume IWB w/clip on.(really strong clip) Spare 15rd Glock mag on left hip. During hunting season, Mossberg 500 12 ga in trunk. Cruiser ready. Slugs and 00 buck available.

LCR, Winchester PDX-1 130gr +P or equivalent Gold Dots, depending on availability.

Wadcutters are a good choice if you don't want the extra recoil of +P and aren't required (employer policy, etc.) to carry expanding ammunition.

It's very very seldom my primary, but remains a niche option and also a reasonable BUG.

I've seen a lot of preference for the Speer 135 grain JHP's...seems that's a popular round in the .38.
I prefer the Hornady 158 grain JHP / XTP as it's dead-on accurate right out of the box!
I hate one-shot training rounds...but it happens! 15' distance with steel Taurus 85.

I wish I would have kept my Taurus 85CH. It was a good little revolver. But fortunately, I can pick up a 642 when I'm ready.:)

I have no issues with relying on a 5-shot snub nose.

Not quite a .38 special, but when appropriately dressed, I will carry my S&W Model 19. It is what I was initially trained with (back in the dark ages), and I shoot it as well or better than any of my semi-autos today.

SW 442, various ammo. Carry it wherever pocket knives are allowed. Very seldom primary, but always close by.

    I carried .38spl/.357mag for years.
These days it's still a revolver, still a 5-shot, and still a snub nose, but now it's .44spl.

    Ammunition?
With the hole a .44spl makes, it really doesn't matter much...

Usually it's a hard cast semi-wad cutter of one weight or another.

Freedom, because I want to, makes nice bulge if I appendix carry
Ruger SP101 357 Mag, Golden Saber 38 Spl

If I could've found the (in)appropriate video with the SNL/Steve Martin and Dan Ackroyd "Wild and Crazy Guys", it would be here.

I carry everywhere it is legal, of course living in Illinois there are a lot of places that are posted. Around home or in town I will carry a S&W 337PD, super light J frame. If I will be in Danville I prefer the Ruger P-95 because it is 15+1. In the mix is my 4" model 65 and my favorite gun to shoot and my IDPA gun S&W 625 mooncliped 45ACP. I like them all and am quite comfortable with my revolvers. Jim.

I’m not sure why anyone would given the size to capacity ratio of semi autos these days.

I'm thinkin' it's more about what you're comfortable with, what you practice with, and what you shoot well.
I've never purchased a pistol based on 'capacity' but rather it's ability to perform reliably and accurately.
I shoot a Glock 36 (single-stack, 6+1, in .45 acp) as good or better than a revolver, but it's the pistol, not me.

very good choice. It’s nice to go back to our roots once in awhile in this age of High Cap Commandos.
