I go .40 all year, either G22 or G27. I do occasionally mix in the Kimber 1911 tho in the winter months, not because of concealment but because it's more of a "dress up" gun and there's more special occasions this time of year.

I wish that I had the discipline to carry just one gun or even caliber for the year. There are things that just feel right to me and things that don't. Those change throughout the year and I go with whatever I'm shooting well at any given time. Come winter, I just don't feel comfortable with my 9mm pistols. I should probably just carry the .45 CCO all year, but there are times when I shoot it well and there are other times when I shoot other stuff better.

Honestly, I do envy the guys that can just choose a single gun and be done with it. I've never been that guy.

Guess I'll bite. I stick with .40 year round, switching from a G27 to my G23 during the colder months. My G27 has an Xgrip on a G23 magazine. It's quite the nifty accessory. Size is cut down a little and I use the 10 rounder depending on clothing.

I used to switch between 9mm and .45 for the winter, but now I just stick with 9mm for the simple fact that I shoot my 9mm Glocks better and I have more mag capacity. I love my G21 and G30, but, I like carrying my 9mm's better.

I carried glock G29 10mm for years until Ruger SR1911 in 10mm came out this year. Wear the SR1911 most of the time now.

I've carried 10mm since early 90's with S&W1006. I guess the cartridge is a sentimental thing to me now.

When walking the dog in the woods, i carry 500 concealed on belt holster after watching Jurassic Park. Velociraptors can be some sneaky bastards. Just shot it today at Hillside, hurts when hands get cold.

You either go 45-70 or you become Raptor poop. Chris Pratt wouldn't lie.

    I. use to switch to a bigger gun when I could conceal it under my coat. but lately I have just been carrying a little S&W M&P 380. I do like the feel of a 1911 or colt lawman better, but to me they are just to hard to conceal when you are not wearing a coat. What do you do if you need a coat for concealment and they want to check your coat?

Is the 9mm the magic bullet of the semi-auto pistols? I read on here about all the advances in 9mm technology that makes it perform as good as or better than the 357 sig, 40 S&W, and 45acp. Are the other calibers frozen in time or is the 9mm really a magic bullet?
