A revolver will get you killed in a real gunfight.
There are many gun shop commando types that say it is viable. I have designed a match where that theory can be better tested than any existing shooting sport out there. Where are all of those wheelgunners that carry?:dunno:

Oh, absolutely. I mean, I definitely need a sport to show me what's viable in reality. That's why I get all my combat tactics from the Olympics.

As an example, the aborted 2nd floor dynamic entry:

I think legends like Frank Hamer, Bill Jordan, and many others proved the viability of the revolver before most of us took our first breath.

Hamer claimed to be involved in 52 shootings...although of course he was wise and used a rifle and 1911 where he could.

So, Bill Jordan with a wheel gun vs ??? with today's flavor of a polymer fantastic...who do you like?

You all need to watch the Netflix movie "Blunt Force Trauma". It has wheel gun action.

I do not need a link to know who either of those guys are. They are not your average EDC guyof today or then. They were not carrying snubbies in their pocket or on a clip. They were also fighting similarly armed guys in their time. Would they carry the same guns today? Who knows and any answer to that question is counter factual.

Plenty of people want to make statements and argue on the net. But so far no one has gunned up and shown up.

Sometimes the "snubbie in the pocket" is all that can be concealed in a place where concealment is very important to the person carrying? Maybe not the best choice for shooting competitions, but at least a choice to try and be armed when not all work places are accepting of the idea.

The right revolver in trained hands is, was, and will always be viable for self protection.

Heard this mantra previously. This carry gun match is designed to let that be seen rather than just stated. The round counts are low to take the slow reloading out of the equation. So far no takers except on the keyboard.

The battlefield pickup could be interesting with a snubby in the box.

Did see a good revolver shooter compete at an IDPA back up gun match.
He wanted to make it real so he was using hot self defense loads in a very light 38/357. He did reasonably well as I recall, but did not finish the match & his strong hand was bleeding slightly after 20 rounds or so.
Sort of like when I bought a lightweight 12 gauge pump for home self defense & thought it would be a good idea to work things out at the range with full power slugs.

I would gladly shoot my revolvers but I work most evenings
