Only a thought: You want to go budget, maybe there is a way. You might want to pick up a lower or two and some high capacity mags. Right now it seems both haven't went thru the roof. If they shut off lowers, parts could come down, the extra lower could finance your build. Mags could go out of sight, might make good trade goods. I'm not suggesting profiteering, just using your head. Duce<><

Mags are the only thing that haven't gone through the roof yet. I just bought a fairly large number of pmags to either have and to hold forever if things settle down or for trading fodder on down the line.

It's kinda surprising, really. It tells me the panic buyers are "I've got 4 mags, that's plenty" kind of buyers. Maybe it's not true, but it seems plausible.

If the it were gun people buying stuff for fear of the coming administration, the 40rd PMAGs especially would have disappeared by now. That, and the 33rd rd glock happy sticks. Yet both are readily abundant still.

Their $ is on the firearm availability and/or ammo with the mentality only need 1 mag without hindsight.

I think you're being generous with the 4 mags. I think the panic buyers are 90% first timers that legitimately don't know what they're doing, and may not even be pro-2A (so not in tune with the past), and probably just have whatever the gun came with. I was that guy once too some 20 years ago.

On the flip side of that, why buy 10 30 rounders when you'd need a payday loan to buy 300 rounds?

It seems that every panic now has a unique trend that none of us can really predict. I mean... Who saw the .22 storage coming last time? I was seriously about to sell my .22s and take up .17HMR just because I could buy .17 (and .17 is awesome).

Anyhow... Yes, buy mags gents. :)

I'm not there yet, but I will be. The wrench in the gears of my general planning, like everyone else, was the damn virus. The unabated months of rioting didn't help either. Losing an entire year of prepping time coming up on an election wasn't something I saw in the crystal ball.

We have always been baseline prepared. Across the board.
Sandy Hook was a serious lesson to anyone that was watching.
    It appears many were not.

I've been baseline since then for sure, just not where I want to be in the long run. I wanted to add at least one caliber and a few more cases of ammo to the hoard this year, but that was off the table just about the exact second I was ready to do it. As we've previously chatted about, I'm left with my commie guns. On the bright side, if a 7 year old can run them, so can I. ;)

Mags are being bought. A lancer drop of 10k green mags, less than 10 hours to sell out. There are more players in the magazine game than ever. New buyers are generally grabbing a few of the cheapest they can get. Seasoned guys are snatching up surefeeds and duramags.
