It's sounding like TRP= D.W. but the d.w. is prettier?
Or, range officer given the proper love, ends up better than the DW or the TRP.

What do you want in a finished product? Accuracy? Awesome trigger? Fit and finish? History? Or just pretty to show your friends?

We've not met, but I believe you are younger than I am. My vision sucks! WWII sights sucked in 1945, and they suck harder today.
A WWII gun is not cheap, and they shoot like ****. The sights are horrible, they were made for minute of man at 15 feet. A modern 1911 can be the most accurate gun you own, due to advances in technology in 100 years.

Reconsider what you want to end up with, my suggestion.
I am 30 in april, and my eyes have been going bad. I plan on buying a ww2 1911 but that will be in a wood and glass case and will only be shot to keep it young.
The one inquestion tonight will be a safe queen that sees action maybe 250-500 rounds a year

Yes, Yes, not with this one and.. what friends... HAHA

I'm not trying to compete with CM. but I would like to have a nice piece I can enjoy shooting fast or stacking holes. I guess I want a good representation of a 1911's potential without changing the concept of a 1911.

I've been extremely happy with my recent nosedive into the 1911 world. I just wish I would've drank the kool aid years ago. For me, there's nothing more satisfying in the realm of pistols than a 1911 from the history, engineering and craftsmanship to the ease of use, aesthetics, and even just down right pride of ownership...it's possible the 1911 has taught me a lot in a short amount of time.
Good luck on your journey, as always pics and thoughts appreciated

Unless you learn to love it, then it gets a 1000 rounds because it makes you smile.

I'm not a 1911 guy, but I have an absolutely awesome one, and you've been around here long enough to figure out where I got it from. I'm not one for modifying, or hot rodding, but there are two platforms that just have to be tuned a little to realize the true potential. The CZ 75, and the 1911.

Piling on with another vote for Dan Wesson. You can spend your $$ on upgrades, or buy a DW and be done with it. The Vigil is priced really well right now, and IMO there's not much "entry level" about it. I have a Commander (in the girly 9mm), and LOVE it.

Depending on your budget, I'm absolutely infatuated with finding a DW Valkyrie Commander. But they've been discontinued and are getting tougher to find. If you really want to rock your world, I think a matte stainless DW Specialist would be the bomb.

Yea... the CZicko's got me hooked. First I bought a 75 then they said cajunize it. Then they said wizardize it. Then buy nice things that are awesome because they are awesome. So then I started organizing my thoughts into my various "hitlists" becuae of my mild ocd. CM had to show Allenm's work. I had to realize I'm 1911 stupid. Then I saw that on my hitlist, I had every slot narrowed down to specifics including price/ condition ratios, and the like. Yet for my 1911... It just said 1911..then blanks for the rest of the excel column. As with most of my planning this is a long term plan. the only thing short term about this is recon and the possibility of finding what I want at the right price sooner than planned for.

Yea my first cz is outpacing all my other guns 3-1 rounds down range since i got it back from lousy. I just look back and wish I had picked something different than what I got. in hindsight, I would've passed on the suppressor package. I bought it on a whim. I want to make sure I get the one I want from the get go. I prefer not to modify my guns (except ar's) So I feel of like mindset in this regard. If you go it who I think you got it from then indubitably it is a thing of beauty.

I love the look of you d.w but the vigil has the shorter grip does it not?

That is the one. Full size grip with a 5" barrel?

If you dont have 1k to spend, i would go with a ruger SR1911. Great shooter out the box and ive had zero issues. Can be had for around $550-$600 used and $800 new.
I also picked up a used Springfield Champion and I've got no complaints with it either. I paid $450 for this one (used) with one gi mag and 2 mecgar mags.

This was my first jump into 1911s and i couldnt be happier for the money spent.

With both of these i can shoot a 1" group all day long at 10 yards, and have had no issues with reliability either.

A loaded or trp sa in stainless

I think if I got the trp, I would have to make it into a tactical workhorse. I'm thinking rmr cutouts may a comp for starters. They just look like workhorses. The D.W. Just has something about it. This of course having never shot one, Only admiring from afar.

If I found a deal like this, I would consider going this route. Once again, depending on the deal. I'm not too terribly concerned with the price. More concerned with what I am getting for my money. I like most on here work too dang hard for it. I want it to work hard for me now.

Do a 1911 the same way, and you won't be disappointed.
so which threaded barrel CZ did you get? I know a guy that like to shoot suppressed.
