well the poor grammer thing is because mainly i cant type very well, and i didnt do this to just sell or buy guns or anything else, why would i sit here and put 50 posts up just for that, i just have many guns that im interestd in and just want opinions from people that own or have owned the guns, if i wanted to just sell stuff i would do somethin so much easier and less time consuming, i joined this because i love learning about guns, its a huge part of my life, ive been shooting since i can remember and i have killed a coyote with my bow, shotgun, 30-06, and 17 hmr. but i started the thread because i want a gun just for coyote and varmint, and when i said i process my own deer its because i do, ive takin one deer to a processor it was the first deer i ever killed and at that time i didnt know how to do it until my grandpa taught me and ive done my own ever since, i was just suggesting that idea to that guy, to me its cheaper and faster, and i was curious about the slug gun because ive heard rumors of the h and r being able to shoot out to 200 yards, i said i can shoot a paper plate at 125-150 yards with my mossy is because i can, i practice that distance a lot due to the fact i hunt on a lot of farm ground and may have a long distance shot, i asked about the 44 and 357 because i wanted to know which is better and if id be better off getting one of those instead of buyin a new slug gun,

you are doing exactly what ingo is made for in my mind. your learning. keep up the quest for knowlege and in another 50-100 posts your intentions for being here will be obvious to everyone here. i have like others been bothered by folks just posting to get there items to the classifieds but if that were your only goal you would have quit posting. after you have been here for awhile you will be able to pick out the "classifieds hunters" and probably get anoyed (spelling?) by them aswell.
    welcome to ingo

Yes, you can take varmits with any legal weapon of your choice.

Which, to thread jack a little, is why our deer hunting regulations in this state are ASININE.

For example, you can hunt coyote with whatever firearm / chambering combination that you wish. From .17HMR to .600 Nitro Express.

Can hunt SQUIRREL with any firearm / chambering you want, too.

But God forbid that we can use .243, .257Roberts, .30-30, or .308 on a white tail.

it just doesnt make since, the only thing i can think of is that there are way more deer hunters than yote hunters and if you had everyone in the woods with rifles it would be a lot more dangerous, possibly more hunters getting injured or hunters not being careful and shooting houses or equipment,

Funny because we were just talking about this at work the other day, guy at work came up with more people in the woods, and the distance the round will travel even after impact, seems logical to me, but who knows. That being said he is all about using .223 for yotes, I personally am going to test out 8mm mauser when the deer hunters clear out, have heard they work well for it from others. BTW a friend of mine used a mosin, had decent luck with it but quit using it for an unknown reason, guessing the nasty recoil though.

I think you would be best served with a 22-250 or a 243, The swift is great, but if you don't handload it will be costly to shoot and might be a little harder to get factory ammo. The 204 is really fast, but too light for ANY type of wind. alslo handloading is sometimes difficult on any case neck smaller than .224

So may be we need a law on that. "No shooting a 30-06 straight up in the air." for all the stupid morons who think everything with out a specific law against it is just a dandy idea.

Hey, I don't think there's a law against sticking needles in your eyes or chopping off your typeing and trigger fingers with an axe... something to think about there guys.

I'm surprised the 25-06 didn't get mentioned. I love my Rem 700 with Leupold glass.

Come on guys, start making the 25-06 more popular again!!!!
