Cheely/Caspian gun (aka The Phantom Grimace) is done with slide machining. Got the ports cut and top machined today. The ports kinda kicked my butt a little because of where I located them. The hole cut fine, but doing the border with the ball end mill did not come out as nice as I would have liked. I should have either milled the area flat first or spent a little more time getting the angle of my setup more dialed in. Oh well, first time cutting ports in this location, live and learn. This one will also get machining on the dust cover.

Finally got out today and test fired both guns. Ran 20 rounds of 10mm thru each and 20 rounds of .357 Sig through the Cheely gun as well. No major issues. Minor issues explained below.

Not bad for 7 yards with no sights, lol.

Cheely gun firing 10mm had premature slide lock twice. I found the 2nd round from the top was pushing the slide stop up on occasion when that round was coming up the magazine. Combination of certain bullet profile (Ammo Inc 180gr FMJ) and the EGW slide stop had a sharp edge. Had no issues with Blazer ammo due to a slightly narrower bullet profile. I removed the sharp edge later at home. That should correct that issue.

Same gun with .357 Sig barrel would experience an intermittent ejection issue that would kick the brass high up in the air, but not super far. Happened on 9 out of 20 rounds. Found each time it happened, the brass had a little gouge from hitting above the flared portion of the slide just ahead of the ejection port, on a pointed area. When it didn't hit there, it ejected normally. I need to adjust the ejector nose shape to make brass hit lower off the slide (hopefully on the flared area). Otherwise it's a fun round, I like it.
