Many years ago I started my career as a traffic reporter and one of my first assignments was to cover a helicopter crash. I don't think that's something I will ever forget. Dental records were likely the only way they were able to ID the victims as they were all burned beyond recognition.
What a horrible way to go. RIP.
"The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces and controls working in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously. There is no such thing as a gliding helicopter." ~ Harry Reasoner
Shocking news indeed. RIP Kobe.
2005, but still sad.It been a bad day for choppers. Not to derail, but 30 Marines and 1 sailor died today in a crash outside of Fallujah.
