I hope the towel in the background is not one of your wife’s good kitchen towels.

:): No, but I will steal them when they start to look a bit ragged. I hang that one with a couple of small magnets to catch the coolant and swarf that comes off the cutter when I place the coolant/air nosel pointed straight back toward the mill. I got tired of wiping oily coolant and junk off of the mill. I will also put some rags down to catch the mess when checkering and some other setups to limit the mess as well.

Slide and frame have been fit. Blue marker rubbed off very evenly along the length of the rail with one test fit pass of the slide.

It is an EGW mage GS for the Jem frames. Will have to do some work on the top and bottom not to get the lines straight.

I usually use EGW bits but had to opt out for a Wilson grip safety on the current project. I hate it and am reminded why I no longer use their pieces.
Did I mention I hate it.

LOL. The EGW/JEM GS is nice because it has a lot less material on it than a regular GS. There is a lot less metal to remove when contouring.

Upgraded licensing and a bunch of custom work to existing guns has been the norm recently, but back to the 1911 build. I am falling behind! Pics to come...

I have 3 projects in various stages for me personally and AllenM is gathering parts and pieces for a Custom 10mm for me. You guys make it very hard to retire.

Fitted and roughly contoured the grip safety. I will clean up the contouring after fitting the barrel. The first picture shows how to properly address the frame to make radius disappear in the grips safety. Second pictures shows the profile.
